That's a rather cynical spin. It would be more accurate to say that there's a leader/prototype (CIVF). And then when the programme gets going in earnest in the autumn, it'll be at a consistent rate of 2 a month (or more) every month until they're all done.

Cynical. Genuinely no. But compare/contrast with the rate at which they turned over the Airbus shorthaul fleet for new seats/lighting, and you can see what I'm point at.

From the Fleet Master thread, the potential reason for the long gap before the 2nd plane goes in for the Super Hi-J refresh is that 6 current Hi-J aircraft are going to Cardiff to be down-graded to Mid-J layout between now and Dec'15.

Isn't that just a consequence of how long the work will take? The schedule suggests that two aircraft will be having this work done simultaneously at any one time, with no breaks.
Code:
Aircraft A Aircraft B

01.11–03.12 - G-CIVS	24.11–23.12 - G-CIVG
03.12–11.01 - G-CIVX	02.01–29.01 - G-CIVV
11.01–05.02 - G-CIVW	30.01–24.02 - G-CIVR
08.02–04.03 - G-BYGD	24.02–20.03 - G-BYGF
04.03–29.03 - G-CIVH	20.03–14.04 - G-CIVY
29.03–23.04 - G-BYGG	17.04–12.05 - G-BYGE
26.04–21.05 - G-CIVZ	12.05–06.06 - G-BYGA
21.05–15.06 - G-BYGB	06.06–01.07 - G-CIVI
15.06–10.07 - G-BYGC
And the 70J --> 52J conversions are likewise being done in a continuous run (and very quickly).

Super hi-J First layout?

Checking BA's new 275-seat Super hi-J, it struck me as odd that the First seats in the pointy end have turned into suites.

In fact, they look like a replica of (or not too dissimilar to the) new 787-9 F suites. At least they have been given extra storage?

I know no scheduled F work was planned, so is this just an update to reflect the different styles in map only?

That is a great spot! May just be an error on the map, but would be great if they had the new cabin!

I imagine CIHY would have mentioned if so, as he seems in the know about the refit.

We can always hold out hope though, until we hear definitively otherwise...

Does this give some indication on which flights BA thinks there is a higher than 'normal' demand for J seats? I'm
too tired to notice any pattern

Maybe CIHY is trying to surprise us

(Praying as I have a few F's on that route coming up)

well I am on the 173 on 25th and seat map is indeed showing the 86J config. Of course I am upstairs in 64K but I will try and have a walk around at some point

Well G-CIVF has just lifted off as BA117 to JFK (2.5hrs late!) - so hopefully somebody from FT will be on her in the next few days to report back!

Sorry, Instagram doesn't allow me to link to FlyerTalk.

One of the latest pictures by @aido_90 - https://instagram.com/p/7pf-e8nmP0/?taken-by=aido_90

And this person who is generally very much in the know says - F class has received new HD Panasonic IFE and given a deep clean. No extra storage or suite-look
