Didn't seem like the Mothercare "49p error sale" people got too much sympathy either... comments like:
"I'm confused as to why people are so outraged at this. Clearly 49p is a pricing error rather than a brilliant deal. Of course they weren't going to honour it and nor should they have to. Get a grip."
and
"There are more important things to be upset about in this horrible world. Get a grip people. You were trying to rip off the store in the first place. You all knew it was a mistake. "
And we are talking about a 50 quid car seat, not a First fare that are sold for the price as a WTP SYD fare... Let's see if anyone wants to go to the Daily Mail with their picture and a sad face...

Quite so. or to be blunt, the whingers and the most 'entitled' sounding who feel they have been 'wronged' almost all knowingly booked error fares. Their previous comments on here show this was known.
If any work in a FCA (or similar) registered role. then I'd suggest there needs to be some firm reflection from each individual on where their moral duty and conduct should sit.
As for the press. Can't wait to read it: I'm sure a bunch of what seems to read like like a bunch of spoilt MR arbitraging kids who can afford over Ł1k-Ł2k on a whim for a mileage trip will gets lots of sympathy from the average person who struggles to pay for the family to go on holiday in economy.

Do you know this for sure? 100% certain?
Can you be sure that it wasn't just a sale that got way out of hand and BA decided to pull the plug in order to save money?
I know that I can't be sure of any of these things because I just am not privy to that sort of information.
Just trying to ascertain if you are speaking with full knowledge of all the facts.

Nothing I've seen over the last few days has persuaded me that that's at all an unjust assessment.
However the excerpt you quote of my post was in relation to morals - some have implied or accused BA of being morally wrong not to honour the mistake fares but some of those same people have not questioned the morals in their own behaviour.

FCA as in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (first result on bing.com)? Nope, not a part of them.
Were the fares listed on their sale page? Yes.
Were they listed for several days? Yes.
Was it a comparatively cheap First class ticket? Yes.
Can you find similarly priced FC tickets? Probably not.
Was it an obvious mistake fare? No.
There have been a lot of comments quoting the fares in pounds. Please remember, a few years ago the pound to euro ratio was much different to today. Personally, I think and operate in euros, and have no interest in what the current pound fare is for any ex-EU travel. Not long ago 1140€ was equal to Ł1030, today it's something completely different.

Myflightsapp has just reported an aircraft change in my May outbound, June return to KUL from 777-200/300 with (most likely) 14F to a 787-900 with 8F. If this really was BA's intention all along, it might also go some way to explaining why they were so keen to cancel - this would have decimated the available F space.

Not that my learned friend Tobias-UK needs the assistance, but in contract law there is a settled position whereby a would-be claimant can be prevented from snatching a bargain. In this type of situation a claimant will be prevented from snatching a bargain which he knew was not intended by the defendant. It follows that a seller who knows that the buyer has misunderstood the terms of his offer is under an obligation to inform the buyer of the true nature of his offer; he is under a duty to disclose the existence of the mistake.
Admittedly, this is beyond my law practise and I leave it to those that work with contracts for a living to separate the wheat for the chaff. Nonetheless, all of this is arguable and that is precisely the point: it is arguable. Plaid comes to mind rather than black and white.
