YVR - LHR on Saturday: new boarding processes used, seemed to work
LHR - NCL on Sunday: no sign of the new process, just priority boarding (without the screens indicating that the flight was boarding), then everyone else in one go.
I don't understand the inconsistency.

New Boarding Process- has anyone noticed an improvement?
GVA Friday had an agent checking eligibility going into the fast track....
LHR - GLA also Friday called new procedure but fell apart a bit as they could not reconcile our biometrics as we had been moved from the delayed previous flight... Very slow boarding as lots were in the same situation...
GLA-LHR Sunday afternoon worked a dream but they have it all laned and use from and rear doors
LHR-GVA Sunday evening new procedure and worked well.

LHR-NCE on Friday - The gate agent made the various announcements, having previously checked individual boarding passes in the queue.
However, as a Fast-Track queue had already formed, they did not send anyone to the back...unless the 20 people ahead of me were all CE and Gold (which, upon boarding, it was clear they were not).
Worth pointing out that at the same time as we were waiting to board, an LHR-MAN flight was also being prepared. The gate agent made 3 announcements advising people of the new boarding process, and requested people do not queue in the Fast-Track section until their status has been called. The pax listened and it seemed to be much smoother than our NCE flight.

New process applied very well in Philadelphia last night. First pax were called first. By the time I got to the gate, CW and Silvers had just been invited to board, but one of the agents proactively sought out F passengers to escort them to the front of the line. ^

Flew LHR-OTP on Friday - old boarding process, with "Club, Gold, Silver Bronze" called forth. At which point everyone joined the FastTrack queue
I also got my HUGE laptop backpack (Samsonite Spectrolite 17") tagged to be placed under the seat, although it would clearly not fit and it was WAY over personal bag "old" limits - did not feel guilty as it was my only carry on though

This mornings LHR-CPH was called as CE, Gold and Silver. Then the next group of Bronze and ET. Mind, the flight was probably about half full if that. Still, it did not stop people from queuing up

Welcome and salut to Flyertalk radui, welcome to the British Airways board, it's great to see you here and I hope you had a good flight to Romania even if it had a slightly rocky start. Thanks for sharing your experiences and please continue to participate here.

Why don't BA just do what UA does and you have a few lines roped off for different classes/zones.
I know space is limited but you could easily change the fast track line to be F/J, the Eco line to be Gold/Silver and then you let everyone else board after that.
If there is no queue management then nothing will ever change as it's just too difficult on a consistent basis to hold back the masses (and the gate agents just get bored trying, sooner or later)

Does anyone know what row numbers they call first on a 320 domestic after the priority passengers?
Daughter has enough TPs for Silver but short of one BA metal flt for Bronze - if you get me. So I was trying to book a seat for her to board as soon as possible but she's got no priority at all at the moment.

Thank you, 23 should do her then. I actually wonder why I always fight to get the front few rows when not in a hurry with connections etc, the back is often roomier with more overhead space as you say. She's a tad annoyed with me actually because I told her she would be silver by the time we came back from Vegas in the summer - I forgot about the BA metal criteria too. Bad dad.

I got hit with the same thing last years! Both daughters on 720 points, but with only 3 BA flights. Had the option of a two week extension to squeeze in an extra flight and get them up to silver, but I ended up gifting them both Gold instead. Paid long hauls for the three of us are now very profitable on the Avios front
