Checking through bag on separate PNRs
I think this may have been answered before, but I have a slightly challenging connection at CPH in a few weeks and am worried I won't have time to collect and recheck my bag...
My first PNR sees me:
My second PNR sees me:
I had originally intended to travel HBO the entire trip, but I now need to check a bag... As I have to check in my luggage again at LHR T5 anyway, do you think the desk there would have any way to getting it sent all the way through to TXL across the 2 PNRs ? I am a little bit nervous (also kicking myself I only just noticed the tight connection :( ) |
It should be possible assuming you meet the MCT at CPH.

Well, HEL, CPH and TXL are all Schengen, and the MCT at CPH is 45 mins vs my schduled connection of 1hr 15m, so I guess it will all come down to the willingness / ability of the check-in agent at T5 to interline (?) the bag onto AB. Think I will head for the First desk and cross my fingers :)

BA will interline to oneworld on separate PNRs.
Passengers holding separate tickets and how their baggage is being accepted, depending on the separate ticket type: BA to BA (i.e. BA operated, BA prefix, BA paper) - Passengers and bags can be through-checked providing MCT (minimum connection times) are adhered to. BA to oneworld member (i.e. oneworld carriers prefix, oneworld carriers paper and codeshare partners - Passengers and bags can be through-checked providing MCT (minimum connection times) are adhered to. BA to other carriers (except oneworld carrier and codeshare partners) - Passengers and bags will only be checked to final BA destination. They will not be checked through to the final destination. The link may require an IATA number and location. 12345678 and Australia work. It's worth taking a print out of the link in case you encounter resistance. |

I edited that immediately after I posted it. AB are OW. My bad.

Can I check through on the following:
PNR 1 (BA)= LHR - DUB PNR 2 (AA)= DUB - LHR - LAX - SFO I assume I can't because it's leaving from LHR then going back through LHR on the same tag? |
Correct Swibbz - passing LHR twice will be a problem.
