BA949 diverted to LCY?
I'm due to fly to Brussels later today and so was checking to see what aircraft was scheduled to operate the flight, and see if it was running on time. Well apparently not, as FR24 states that the A320 (G-EUYW) has diverted to LCY whilst operating BA949 from Munich.
Consequently, the app tells me my BA398 has been delayed by apprx. 2h30 minutes.
Any ideas what's happened?

And here is the Expertflyer script. Just a computer error for FR24 it looks to me. And a routine ATC issue for the delay.

Ah I forgot about that function.
I didn't think an A320 could land into LCY, so was sceptical to begin with but hey, you never know.
It's still doing a rotation to AMS before my flight, so curious to see if that 2h30 delay is accurate.

Looks like there was an equipment swap, G-EUYU is now operating to BRU, whereas G-EUYW is doing the 1463 to EDI. Delay is down to about an hour now, though with a glass of LPGS in hand, I think I could manage a longer delay.

It's actual one of the questions I've put to almost every pilot I know.
Most agree that an A319/A320 (Full of pax/bags, no cargo and under 1hr of fuel) could land safely at LCY. It wouldn't be textbook or within normal operating procedure but it would by no means be unsafe if the landing went to plan.

I've been in an A320 sim at BA a few times, me and my FO have had some fun landing/taking off from BOB that also has a 1500M runway.

[Non aircraft geek alert]I notice that there are some locations which take A320s with short runways in the 1700 metres length area whereas LCY is 1508 metre. So I presume a lightly loaded A320, in good, dry weather, could just about land there? Perhaps doing a little twist at the end to prevent going into the Royal Albert Dock? Not sure I would want to test this though!
