Ha, that bit must've been a bit embarrassing, just doing as you're told and then getting shunned

I actually noted this happening too once: earlier this year, LHRHKG on the A380, I was in F and after the doors closed a lady joined the F cabin escorted by the CSD. A few minutes later the Captain came out and introduced his wife to all cabin crew allocated to the F cabin. As all this was done quite openly I guess this is an official perk?

I know for sure that Captains are legally entitled to move passengers as they wish, as soon as the doors are closed.

Curious if any BA staff on this board can explain this further.
Hmm, tricky- senior staff have an F priority on a couple of tickets per year, if his wife was using one of those tickets while he was operating the flight she would have only been entitled to J-one of the vagaries of the BA staff tvl system. (If he had been travelling with her, ie on holiday rather than working the flt they both get F.) If she was using his non management ticket its a Y tkt. As a former Capts wife (he's retired, we're not divorced!) I had many instances of being moved on door closure-usually to F.

Me this week - first one in a while - and to CE in a SH 767 - so still a seat in CE with legroom Had to laugh as I moved all of one row forward from my original seat... I hope that's not now one of my three as it's OK but not the best UG ever - but welcome nonetheless.

Well it looks like Karma may be playing a game with me... My upgraded flight to Stockholm is going nowhere by the looks of things - so I suspect I'll be back down the back if the equipment change proposed actually happens - as it's a totally full 767 and I guess there aren't many of those hanging around spare at LHR 😮 I hope I don't lose one of my three on an upgrade which doesn't happen in the end 😀😩

Upgraded to F on Sat to DFW. Loved the seat but the service was very hit and miss - one of the best crew I've ever had, but the other one didn't crack a smile the whole time. I know some pax prefer the more serious service, but I think most BA crew can read the passenger and work accordingly, this particular one couldn't. But, the other crew more than made up for it!

I did think it was poor that I was never offered a drink outside of meals though, despite being awake for the entire flight.

Flight status on BA.com looks odd. 782 scheduled to leave at 13.20 left at 15.50 with scheduled arrival time 21.04 but 782 left at 16.07 with scheduled arrival 19.37.

BA782's STA was 1550. Actual departure was 1607, airborne 1638, ETA 1937 (STA 1925).

BA780 looks like it's still on the ground. Current ETD says 1730, ETA 2104.

Makes sense, must be a glitch on BA.com flight status which indicates it departed at 15.50.

It looks like there may have been an ACARS "brakes off" signal at 1550, but that wasn't actually a departure.
