As it is a cot seat, if we receive a request from a customer with an infant then it may result in us having to move someone from this seat.

Golds no longer able to select 64A?

I've just been booted out of 64A for an upcoming flight in August, that I've had booked for months.

The seat is unable for selection online, but shows as blocked on Expertflyer.

A fellow FTer has just had the same thing happen to him, on a separate flight.

New policy?

I've been told its due to an aircraft change and that my new seats in row 63 feature "Extra Legroom" and its an upgrade from my original seats!

I believe it used to be a cot seat, but not for a while now.

It's now a cot seat on the seatmaps.

That isn't showing on their systems though, I've been given everything from an aircraft change to broken seat onboard. I was told I'd need to contact "central control" regarding this, but nobody knows anything about contacting central control.

FWIW - I've got a booking in AUG2015 on the 744. I'm in 64K on both legs of my booking. My seats have not changed. However, I've just logged into MMB, and surely, 64A is now occupied on both seat maps for both flights. As of yesterday however, I was the only occupied seat on the UD for both legs! BA must have changed something overnight re: blockage of 64A.

Same thing for me on 3 upcoming flights over the next 6 months, so it does look like a new policy. Either that or maybe BA updated whatever software runs MMB and/or the seating interface and forgot to turn off the cot-seat block for the upper deck when they rebooted the system.

In two cases I have been moved to 64K and in the other case to 14A (presumably as 64K is already taken, but maybe the re-seating algorithm thinks I need to shake things up a little.

64A has always been a bassinet seat but for some reason BA decided not to recognise it as such.
I am pleased that it has changed back as on our mid J aircraft there is only one other at 20EF and I have been finding when these have been taken for customers with an infant we are have infants on laps and 64A has been used for customers without an infant.

It's strange not to let golds select the seat.

I mean who are they reserving it for? The smallish number of GGLs?

Or maybe, they're just keeping it for CWS.

I'm due to fly in 64A tomorrow, so I've just checked in online. I'm still there no problem. However the flight wasn't showing up in my list of upcoming flights on the BAEC home page, so it seems there are the standard amount of IT gremlins in action today.

I had the same issue, but I think the website is back up and running now as everything looks normal

You must have been unlucky and your aircraft was swapped for one where 64A has gone missing.
