Executive Club and passengers with the same name

A quick question... is it possible for my father, who shares the same name as me, to earn Avios and tier points under the same Executive Account number?

He is coming to visit me next month and since he is flying BA I have suggested he use my account number so he can earn miles for me. In return, he should be able to access the lounge. I would imagine there isn't anything preventing this, but that it's not entirely permissible.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts around this?

You might get away with it (I doubt BA's systems are sophisticated enough to notice), but if BA do find out, they might close both your accounts. Is it worth the risk?

Does BA have your date of birth on record? I believe it is part of the Executive Club account? If so that might be a give away.

Chances of getting caught probably slim. If you do get caught, I guess it means termination of your account and forfeiting your Avios.

IANAL but I would imagine this would be fraud by false representation.

I think this strikes the balance right. Yes it's wrong but so is buying a ticket with the express intention of not using the last leg, or guesting someone into a lounge etc.

Lighten up! I would definitely be up for this.

When you book a hotel redemption for a family member, do you call ahead to tell the hotel not to accidentally extend any status benefits to them?!

I have occasionally thought that I missed a trick here when naming my kids. Especially my daughter

What's wrong with guesting someone into a lounge?

When T5 opened, there was a little FT party in the F lounge (I wasn't there) attended by people on fully flex tickets who suddenly decided not to travel at the last minute!

It is not permissible at all!

Presumably this would be an international flight and likely API would need to be collected by the airline? Providing false information could cause untold issues with immigration and security. Is it really worth all the potential hassle for the sake of a few TPs and Avios?

Of course entirely reprehensible assuming they never had any intention of getting on the flight.

Well that extra info does change things a little.

Notwithstanding any moral arguments about whether or not it's fraud...this is a breach of the TnCs of your account and you risk both accounts being terminated with the forfeiture of all status, Avios and TPs.

Not worth it!
