A question.
For my EDI-LCY flights selling class N gives me 10TP per sector. Often for £20 less they offer a fare in selling class O but that only gives 5TP. When booking on BA.com is there a way to select a more expensive N class fare? I don't want to pay for a 20TP fare and if there is availabilty of O class then I only seem to be able to select a 5TP or 20TP fare.

Given the new earning rules, there should be another option when booking economy fares - to give a choice of 'lowest price earning 25% tier points' and 'lowest price earning 50% tier points' to add to 'lowest price earning full tier points' - rather than just 'lowest price earning reduced tier points'. Surely BA could have planned for this?

Bumping this. Looking at making the changes next week, possibly upgrading some legs from WT to WT+

Things these days are arranged to ensure that you get offered the lowest price.

I can't imagine there'll be that much demand for it. Outside of FT I think most travellers don't care about TPs much and would view someone spending extra cash purely for the possibility of earning / retaining status to be a bit odd.

A bit cynical! Anyway, in practice, I find that the telephone agents waive the fee if you can demonstrate you couldn't do the booking online. It's more to do with waiting on hold that annoys me

Hello,
You may have noticed that the Executive Club changes have gone live at 00:00 British Summer Time (GMT +1), as per the information available on ba.com. These changes have allowed us to provide more opportunities for you to spend Avios on reward flights as well as to ensure that the Executive Club continues to deliver a competitive and rewarding loyalty programme for the future.
For more information and to view our Q&A’s you can visit our Executive Club Changes pages on ba.com here .
The changes only apply to bookings made on or after 28th April 2015, all bookings made before 28th April, regardless of travel date, will earn and collect at the previous rates. This excludes any bookings made on our Airline Partners that do not have a BA flight number.
We will do our best to respond to your queries as quickly as possible.
kind regards,
Max from the proposition team

I could not have been more explicit. Even quoted the exact PNR and they replied quoting the exact points I should be getting (140) and confirmed the MMB figures were incorrect. I will NOT be happy if this was an error as it makes or breaks my status for the next year.

Glad it all worked out for you. I'm very pleased that in the end BA "did the right thing" and didn't fob us off.

HarryKUK - did you ever get this sorted out? Both me and konagirl2 had our Avios and TP adjusted to reflect the old rates. Hope you have had the same success. See this other thread for details.

I've just put together a rough forecast based on my next twelve months of travel and I'm currently nowhere near getting Silver under the new scheme. Need to make a few decisions about which flights to upgrade to optimise the TP collections at minimum cost.
