If BA got rid of the zig-zag boarding lines and created straight lines by zones or rows (like UA does) it might not take too much space. Some people will join the lines and some will stay seated.
All my US flights are from LCY for the next couple of months so I won't get to enjoy the new trial

Johannesburg is not in North America.

It would be good to see an improvement in boarding. Maybe to start boarding passengers in smaller parts.

Arms first, then legs, torso and finally head?

I'm assuming the "we may have the opportunity" bit is BA's usual lack of proof reading and they actually mean me. Although if BA wants to do the task and still reward me, I'm fine with that too. :cool:

For years I have lamented the fact BA has not learnt from their OneWorld partner - AA's superior boarding experience using *big bold letter* Group # on everybody's boarding pass generally works well.

If one is travelling in a premium cabin (fewer people than econ) or is at an elite level (thus usually experienced & knowledgable - i.e. a fast boarder) - you get onboard first. Then everyone else infills based on cabin and seat type.

Even people who almost never travel seem to "get it" and not cause blockage and delay. When AA announces "Group 1 is boarding" and you look down at your boarding pass and it says "Group 4", even with mental health issues one would still understand you need to wait.

This best practice should be industry standard.

Note you would normally say 'focuses exclusively on' if you wanted to say that nothing else was included.

To update on this thread, I received another FutureLabs survey on this experiment today:

Although I'm no longer flying during the period in question (some of May and June, from the looks of it), I'm quite nosey curious, so I decided to fill in the survey anyway. The same routes were listed, and I was then asked for my cabin of travel - I chose WTP, thinking that was hedging my bets...

Unfotunately the new service that BA are thinking of running will only be available for those travelling in World Traveller / Economy. Thank you for taking part and hopefully we’ll have a new topic that is relevant for you on Future Lab soon." :mad: Darn it!!!

Presumably it's going to be regarding the ability to order the specialised menus in advance?
