Interlining - Air Berlin to BA on separate tickets?
 

(I tried to search for the answer to this question, but my search skills failed me...)

I'm flying AUH to TXL tomorrow with Air Berlin, and then have a same-day connecting flight - TXL to LHR - on a separate ticket.

If I can produce my boarding pass for TXL to LHR when I check in at AUH, will they interline my bags through to LHR, or will I have to collect them and re-check them in TXL?

They should through check them. Same alliance (assuming it is Air Berlin operated).

For any specific AB policy, that would be an AB question, rather than a BA one.

Not from AUH but I've never had any problems interlining bags from AB's US-Germany flights with a separately ticketed BA flight back to the UK. I show my reservation and they issue my BP's for both flights.

As I see it, it should also work on other AB flights irrespective of first departure point.

For completeness - in case someone stumbles on this thread in the future - as suspected, I was able to check my luggage from AUH through to LHR, and they did issue boarding passes for my TXL-LHR flight on checking in at AUH.
