US Codeshare on BA metal - problems accessing booking
I made a booking with US Airways a few days back (booked via their website). This is a codeshare where all legs are on BA.
It has been ticketed (I have e-ticket numbers) and also have 2 booking locators (one for US and one for BA). When I try and manage the booking on BA's website I get an error message 'Sorry, we are unable to display your booking as there are no flights in the booking. Please contact your local British Airways office or Travel Agent.' I cannot select seats on the US Air website as all legs are on BA. Is this a common issue, or should I be worried that there is something wrong with the booking? |
First thought would be to enter your BA booking reference into the Amadeus Check My Trip system and see what comes up:
https://www.checkmytrip.com/cmt/apf/...&SITE=NCMTNCMT I have quite a few issues with BA/US combinations and getting them to show up correctly (EK/IB similarly, for what it's worth) but the bookings themselves have always been fine for me. In addition, can you see any or all of the itinerary on the US site? If you can, and any part visible on CMT added together makes up the whole, then that should mean all is well. |
Checkmytrip doesn't recognise the US booking, it does recognise the BA reference but then states:
4649 - This trip cannot be found. It may have been cancelled. (4649) On the US Airways website I can bring up the booking using their reference code and all flights show as active (it also tells me the BA booking reference). Since all 4 segments are BA codeshare (on BA metal) I cannot do anything on the US website (like select a seat) without going via the BA website and the BA confirmation doesn't appear valid. |
It took about a week for flights I booked on aa to show up in my BA account - just as I was panicking!

I called US Airways 2 weeks ago about my booking, they told me that there was a 'computer glitch' over the weekend of 28th Feb and some bookings hadn't been setup correctly but not to worry as it would all be sorted out and I would get a new email confirmation in 1-2 weeks.
Two weeks later (today) I called them back and they told me that BA were not honouring the booking (apparently they have a right not to as long as they tell US Airways in 24 hours) - I paid for the booking and had e-tickets issued 3 weeks ago and have had no notification of any kind! The agent at US Airways then tells me she has cancelled the booking and refunded me. I said this wasnt acceptable and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor then said it was my fault as I must have asked for a refund and she couldn't prove whether I did or not. I then spoke to a manager who said she would look into it but not a lot she could do as it was now cancelled (she promised to email me right away but have received nothing). I am furious with US Airways for doing this and lying to me. What recourse do I have?, every time I call them I am on the phone waiting for an hour and they fob me off. |

Uggh. Doesn't sound great. I suppose you have to wait a day or two to hear back from them.
I hope you will get some good advice from others on here. |
