Booking holiday but no deposit option?

Taking advantage of the Ireland sale fares and looking to book to MCO but returning from NAS. Great price at 3700 ish for 2 in J. Adding on the hotel and car hire, it usually lets you continue with a deposit, but it's asking for full payment.

I've never actually tried a 'holiday' on an ex EU ticket. Is the deposit option not available for these bookings?

For what I know, it's not possible to book online a BA Vacation package with an open jaw flight. The system just show you flight + separate booking for hotel, and for that there is no deposit option available.

Leaving on August 20th and returning on August 31st.

Can i do it by calling? Will they quiz me on my ex EU antics?

Booking holiday but no deposit option?

I think it's worth a call myself. I've never tried an open jaw holiday booking.

I started a thread on this recently and the answer I got was that open jaw tickets do not get the same treatment as normal holiday packages, so no deposit option and no bonus Avios.

As has been posted before, this isn't a BA Holidays booking.

BA Holidays are simple returns to and from the same cities with a hotel or car booked for the entire duration of the stay.

LON-MAD-LON with car booked for duration - BA Holiday.

MAN-LON-CPH-LON-MAN with hotel booked for duration - BA Holiday.

DUB-LON-BGI-LON-DUB with hotel booked for duration - BA Holiday.

MAN-LON-CPH-LON with hotel booked for duration - Not a BA Holiday.

LON-PAR-LON with a hotel for only one of the three nights you're there - Not a BA Holiday.

BGO-LON-SEA-LON-BGO with car hire for only one of the two weeks yore there - Not a BA Holiday.

BGO-LON-SEA-LON-BRU with car hire for the duration - Not a BA Holiday.

Yup, paul4040 has got it.
I tried to do a BA holiday booking on an open-jaw ex-DUB for the summer (on the phone and on-line) with a car for the duration and it wasn't happening. Although I still got a very good price for the car hire when I added it on to the booking I made over the phone, but had to pay it all up front.

I've done 3 BA holiday bookings (return flight + hotel) in past 12 months, EDI to Bologna, deposit option available; OSL to BOS, deposit option available; EDI to IST deposit option not available. So ex-Europe is OK, but I have no explanation why the most recent EDI-IST holiday booking did not offer the deposit option

I had the same issue with a multicity about a year ago, took it up with CR but now a year later and nothing has changed!

I had the same issue last year. Wanted to book ABZ-LHR/LGW-MCO with a car for the whole trip and a hotel for part. It wouldn't package it up with the extra avios/deposit option as I had wanted to fly down from ABZ the night before the flight to the US, so technically I didn't have a car rented for every night I was away from home. I imagine a lot of people wanting to fly from the regions the night before are caught by this.

In the end the economics of the situation meant I booked an easyjet return flight ABZ-LGW instead and booked the BA Holiday from LGW only. All moot now as we had to rush back early and ended up flying BA LHR-ABZ to get home anyway so my planning was for nothing but it was frustrating at the time!
