OT: Unusually heavy armed police presence at NCL today?

On the BA1331 today.

Four police cars parked outside.
Three police (two armed) patrolling checkin.
Three police (two armed) at security.
Two unarmed police officers in departures.

Just seen three more police officers pass by the lounge. They're all different officers, I'm pretty sure.

Is there a specific threat affecting NCL?

Something's up - suspect it's not NCL specific.

There was a big operation on Blackfriars Bridge yesterday checking cars going into London and an armed police officer inside the tube station I used this morning.

Maybe there was concern over the coded messages in the lounge feedback book...

Suggest asking on the Constabulary blog/FB ... I'm sure they'll tell you

Or call MI5 on 0800 999 9999

Hahaha, love it.

I like the person who thinks NCL is a better lounge than the CCR.

Every now and then, in T5, if you look upwards at the entire area overlooking check in (above the surrounding shops) you see 4 or 5 teams of armed police officers stood watching everyone.

They have cameras on tripods and are clearly filming people and looking at those of us checking in through their binoculars.

(And BTW - that snap shot above just proves that they have every right to be worried about the crazies passing though UK airports every single day.....)

Maybe they're worried about Mike Ashley making any more headlines...?

Maybe they thought c-w-s and Tobias-UK would both be there. Two BAEC Ambassadors in the airport at the same time surely warrants diplomatic-style police protection...presumably they are not allowed to travel on the same flight?

Love the lounge feedback book, will take more interest in them in future to see the coded messages.

Maybe CWS is planning to pay for next week's flights in cash? I can understand the need for an armed presence with that sort of money being banded about...

There are some fat police over here for sure, but they are even bigger in the US.

Is Micky Quinn moving back to Newcastle and they had to guard all the pies?
