Am I entitled to a sit down a la carte breakfast in the Quantas Lounge as a BA Silver? I think yes and it seems this is the only business class lounge that allows this but perhaps I am mistaken?

You are allowed as long as they are serving at the time you are there.

You certainly are. And they are fine with ordering more than one thing from the menu. Salt and pepper squid is very yummy!

I'm not really a fan of the upstairs of the QF T3 lounge, but the bar downstairs (and the staff) are great.

We visited the bar downstairs recently to have a nice cocktail before a flight after eating lunch in CX and ended up staying for a couple of hours. When the menus came out the selection was pretty decent -- much better than it was just after opening, the last time I went.

The squid was outstanding and is something I miss from the QF F lounges elsewhere.

I haven't visited the AA lounge at T3 but for a J lounge, the QF lounge is really good.

Totally agree re the staff at the bar in the QF lounge.

QF staff celebrated their 2 years anniversary today.

Was the AA lounge closed today? Popped over for some chocolates at 6am and the doors were closed. An hour or so later, the same.

Qantas London Lounge

Hi,

Just went through the lounge. For those interested, here's some photos of the menu and lounge.
Becareful that the dining area for menu items only opens from 1730 for the evening session.

I did a lounge hop, wanted to check out the AA First lounge (since I've not been there for a long time, but sadly it was closed - which I found strange), followed by BA First lounge (the usual), Qantas lounge (for the salt&pepper squid and G&T), and ending at the CX lounge (since I am on CX).

Curious - do QF First/Platinum pax get a separate menu? [Noticed that they were accommpanied into the lounge by the attendant and had a separate bounded book].

Cheers!

QF Lounge Gin Bar

Looking through the earlier posts, I see that the a la carte brunch and dinner menus are only available prior to the 2 QF flights. Is this the case for the downstairs/gin bar or does that have different opening hours - is it open all day?

Thatís interesting- has the opening time for the evening menu been brought forward to 1730? It was 1800 when I was there a couple of months ago

Yes, AFAIK and experienced 2 days ago. I was even thinking it was a whole day affair, arriving at 1600 to be told that they only start at 1730. At around 1745 I returned and the place was lightly filled but by 1800 it started to fill quickly.

Cheers!

In answer to my own question, the gin bar was open when we arrived about 1:30pm today

There is a short separate drinks menu that includes champagne / better wines, I've think I've posted it in the QF LHR Lounge thread in the QF forum before. Food offering is the same.

Great to know- thanks. Makes a difference if heading out on one of the BA European departures between 1800 and 1900

I have my first BA F flight out of T3 its a 10am flight. My first point of call will be breakfast, which is F lounge currently have the best breakfast offering, we will probably end up going to CX lounge after eating anyway as from what I have read this is the best F lounge to relax in. In terms of breakfast food is CX al a carte any good or is there better to be had at BA Galleries 1 or AA. I have enjoed the CC room breakfast before in T5 but guessing it wont be the same in Galleries F T3. Thanks
