There are a number of paid for lounges airside in LHR, and with the exception of T5 Aspire you are allowed to go to them via Flight Connections to use them. It may not be easy to get back to your correct terminal, and you may need staff assistance, but as a matter of principle, this is allowed and facilitated.

You can't do this to access the oneworld lounges since by and large they are told to restrict access to those deparating that terminal that day (various exceptions have been reported, I don't believe this to be the SOP however). The one possible exception, for Admirals own membership arrangements, would be Admirals T3 since these operate outwith oneworld policies in that situation

May I ask which F lounge is better for sleeping? I'm facing a 5 hour layover in T3.

It really irks me that I cannot use the CCR after arriving in F!

Probably the AA one, but there's nothing amazing. AA always been quieter than the BA lounge when I've tried both. IIRC quite near the door on your right is a partly enclosed area, pretty sure that's where I had a snooze last time I had a long T3 layover! Needed some noise cancelling headphones and chilled music though, but I did get a bit of kip :)

The LHR T3 GF was very busy when I arrived about 0945 this morning enroute to LAS ( on the 1230 BA271) but it has quietened down since the Nairobi flight was called ( lots of people heading there)

It's a shame there aren't any facilities like CX have in their Pier F lounge at HKG, or TG at BKK in their F lounge for example (or even better QR in Al Safra which is just like a hotel room). ISTR BA had dozing facilities about ten or fifteen years ago at LGW North when they had two floors.

Thanks for the pod info. But what BA really needs is a true First class lounge at T3 as they have in T5 with the CCR which has the Cabanas for sleeping.

Can one use the OneWorld T3 Lounges if departing on a Oneworld flight from T4 ? Connecting time is around 6 hours so assuming bags can be checked straight though.

To elaborate, will be arriving T3 on BA and departing T4 on MH. Class will be economy as a OneWorld Sapphire.

You can't do it. The only exception would be if you had standalone AA Admirals membership or part of their credit card arrangements, which should get you into AA, but then you'll find it tricky to go to T4. You cannot enter the BA lounge in T3. There is paid-for lounge options for T4.

thanks for the reply. just wondering the reason they would give for denying entry ? would T3 BA,AA or CX lounge not be able to verify my MH flight ticket if it leaves from T4 (another terminal).

Or is there no way to cross over from T3 Arrivals to T3 Departures ? In any case I would need to somehow get to T4 from T3. I understand at Heathrow (airside) these are done by shuttle bus.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm not trying to use the T3 lounge as Arrival Lounges. But will use my MH ticket to enter instead. This is because the MH lounge in T4 only opens 3-4 hours before the flight time.

There's a general principle here that people should be in their departing terminal, though a few restricted exceptions exist as noted above. One consequence is that once in T3 departures there is no obvious route to T4 departures (there is a route from T3 arrivals to T3 departures however, just that 99.99% of T4 passengers aren't going to be using it). The upshot is that BA will not give you admission (you're in the wrong place), CX won't give you admission (they are closed for a few months) and AA will give admission (I suspect) only on the basis of any Admirals membership you may hold, not oneworld, frequent flyer or flight status.

Am travelling through T3 at around 4pm today with a toddler. ideally would like the least crowded lounge (dont care for food, wifi or anything else)

What is my best bet? I read someone that the AA lounge is usually dead at this hour but may have changed since cx closed

AA lounge probably will be your best bet.

T3, uniquely, has a parents lounge by Ted Baker. The reason for this is that HAL have fuller play areas in T2 and T5, in T3 there isn't space for a similar provision due to the cramped design around the shops. However they do have an unoccupied lounge area at the back of the shops, hence the following arrangement:
