Then snap it up. In June-July it's mostly in the range $5,800 - $6,500. That's per person!

Does BA do CE sales anymore? Not the holiday rubbish - just the flights.

Yes. The last one was in around November IIRC. Typically the prices fall by around 10-30% depending on route.

I would expect another one around Easter time.

So, I need to go to BOS/WAS for a conference in late June. I found a very reasonable ex-MUC fare (which is convenient, as I will be based in Munich around that time) last week MUC-LHR-BOS; IAD-LHR-MUC for 18/6-29/6 for 613€ in Y. Stupidly, I didn't book that straight away - now it has gone up to >900€. Fares ex-DUB are still arund 600€ though.

Is there any chance that the cheap ex-MUC fares will reappear? Or should I just bite the bullet and go ex-DUB?

I've been looking at an ex-DUB J fare DUB-LGW on EI and LGW-East Coast of USA on VS for about £1055 in July. However, the only way I can figure out to book it is via lastminute.com, which generally makes me nervous.

I know this is OT, but how are you booking these ex-EU fares on VS?

Thanks.

FWIW and in the short term, I'd wager that the greater likelihood is that exDUB will go up. Only you can speculate as to how you will feel if that happens and the exMUC doesn't come down!

In the crystal ball I see prices generally increasing slightly, and at least one more BA sale

Yep, I've noticed that VS ex-Dublin UC (and trying to avoid Aer Lingus, want business class on that line via BA) is about 200 quid cheaper than BA recently.

I think expedia has some sort of airline choice, which seems to be the way to do it. Direct with VS doesn't seem possible...

I think he's saying it's only J out and Y back. If anyone finds BGI in J rtn at £885, feel free to share your secret.

it is indeed - J out, Y back...

These are the prices i am seeing

Y return: 812 euros
J out, Y back = 1376
J return: 2706

aka £416 extra to move from Y to J..... I've never flown J either... this does sound like the better optionthe more I think aboutit..

but that £400 is £800 between two of us - thats a lot of wine and nice dinners when we get there
