When should bars be sealed
Flew into Rio last night on an otherwise great flight - the temperature wasn't banged up after the meal service, the blinds remained open, etc
However when I asked for a white wine at t-1h40 to go with my evening meal, I was told the bars were sealed! Is this some overflying Brazil tax thing, similar to the flighs in Saudi airspace issue?

1h40 seems excessive. I always have the crew close the bars and make sure all of the bar and duty free paperwork comes forward to the CSD Office on longhaul at the 40 minutes to landing PA by the Flight Crew. Can only surmise that the bars are round tripped and by 1h40, there was little stock left so the crew made the decision to close the bars. Not ideal or making excuses, but what I would imagine had happened (especially on such a busy flight as GIG).
