Concorde Room in IAD - Access for CCR card holders
Just been in the lounge in IAD with Frequent_Flyer1 and I'm very pleased to announce that, after using his Austrian charms on the Lounge Angel, she confirmed the rules have now been changed to allow CCR card holders access to CCR pre-flight dining, whichever class they are travelling in. This is a genuine and very welcome enhancement! ^
You have to be departing on a BA flight to use it, so we weren't able to try it out today, but I will be back in tomorrow and am looking forward to giving it a go. Please see pictures below of the dining are and the current menu...

A completely unrelated, but cute picture that Frequent_Flyer1 took in the T5 CCR this morning

BTW, in addition to Filthy_Monkey's post I think we can add that the bar at the new IAD-lounge is quite nice; the selection and the cocktails there aren't bad

Good news and nice pics - thanks for sharing Filthy.
Why does that LHR CCR pic not surprise me? ☺

Ask for the shrimp without the sauce, it is the sauce that gives it the hot heat. And if you don't like your beef sweet ask them not to add the apricot jam to the beef - it tastes much better without.

Never knew that there was a CCR in DC. Though I don't fly out of DC often, hate those 777s.
The picture of the round bar, it reminds me of one lounge, but I can't remember where. The room had larger windows and full length sheer curtains, maybe LHR in the old days? But then I remember I remember the CCR of the olden days.

Good news. As mentioned in the main IAD lounge thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ba-lounge.html
I did enquire about CCR rights shortly after the lounge was re-opened, and was told that there was no access. Now my contact did say that this was a bit odd (their personal view) given the branding, and I was told separately that a new CCR facility was being lined up, however I was under the impression it was somewhere else. So I assume they had a re-think and quietly changed the policy without any fanfare (thus far at least). Another reason for being on Flyertalk, I guess.
