The catering supplier is BaxterStorey, who took over the contract on 2 May 2013.

You didn't mention the delightful, charming and not forgetting fascinating FTers you met in there

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, I've had a couple of breakfasts in there too in the last 2/3 weeks both served hot with a smile and attentive service.

Did you try the dessert? It's my all-time CCR favorite at the moment ^ I'm not a big fan of sweet offerings as a rule but this current one is just delightful

1. Service; I was greeted immediately on arriving at the dining room, seated straight away and had very attentive service there after. Only slight issue was receiving my main course whilst I was just finishing my starter!
2. Food quality; REALLY impressed. I had a salmon tartare starter which would good restaurant quality, a lovely flavour and very well presented. The club sandwich was, well, fine, but what do you expect from a sandwich? Later on I had the lamb which was really very good (although not keen on the kale!). Overall I would say it was excellent.
3. Beverage; cocktails were very nice and the barman was knowledgeable about all the offerings. Overall very good indeed.

Obviously opinions and experiences vary, but I am not sure how I could improve what was offered.
Nice to hear that you had a good time. This is very much in keeping with my experiences. Occasionally there are minor issues with food and service, and I do think the food quality could be improved overall, but it is a very nice 'waiting room'

I can't remember any of them although maybe that was due to the number of G&T's I'd consumed!

Didn't try dessert alas.

See you there soon!

New revisions to the CCR menu, it finally has scallops on it, someone here will be pleased. Also note that the duck is back, and a new dessert, rhubarb and apple crumble. Full details in Post 1.

For the record - retired dishes:

Smoked Salmon Tartare
Severn & Wye smoked salmon and dill with purple micro cress and lemon oil.

Avocado and Bacon Salad
Salad of avocado, crisp smoked bacon and spinach topped with a soft poached egg

Rump of Devonshire Lamb
Roast rump of lamb with cauliflower purée and sautéed curly kale, finished with port and redcurrant jus

Desserts

Sticky Toffee Pudding
Toffee sponge with dates and fudge served with Cornish clotted cream

Am a big fan of the salted chocolate dessert these days, it's way too sweet for my normal taste nit the first half is delicious. When i eat all of it i feel like a sugar overdose so note to self is to just eat some of it

You can't beat a chocolate cylinder. I have a friend of mine who just loves to munch on cylinder's, especially chocolate ones.

Haven't scallops featured in the past? I seem to recall that they did.

Not for a long time, if at all. They were on the JFK CCR menu for a while...

They were, but a good few years ago. In fact, they might have been on the Pre-flight Super menu.

I noticed them on the menu on Monday, but I'd just had my breakfast, so I didn't try them.

Anybody tried them yet?

Can you eat in the restaurant more than once?

Next month I'll be in there from around 11:00 til 14:30, would I be able to sit down for a breakfast at 11, then have a lunch around 14:00 before boarding? Or is that frowned upon?

Sounds delicious. Supping the high quality quaffs in the CCR, one can almost get romanticised with the old days when air travel was glamorous… Until one steps out onto the 'terrace', whose floor reminds one of a gymnasium..

Still, if there any £££ or $$$$ laden 'gentleman' looking for a full-time companion for world travel, do enquire within! lol. I'm very respectable.

No problem at all. Anyone judging others in the CCR really should get a life. Visit as many times as you like and order as much as you like.
