BA and Sichuan Airlines vow to strengthen cooperation

Carnoc via CAPA Centre for Aviation

British Airways EVP China and the Philippines Richard Tams visited Sichuan Airlines on 11-Dec-2014 and expressed the carrier’s optimism in the Chinese market (Carnoc.com, 23-Dec-2014). He also said BA hopes to further strengthen cooperation with Sichuan Airlines. The carriers also discussed issues such as codeshare, SPAs and transit agreements.

This is where the much discussed codesharing with Chinese airlines in future might come in to play, perhaps.

Enjoy.

Exept on my recent Air China flight Peking to London the flight crew announced that the flight is codesharing wirlth British Airways in both English and Chinese. Upon arrival i notice the flight is actually codesharing with Virgin Atlantic only...maybe some Air China crew is desperate to see Air China to co op with British Airways...lol

the CAPA analysis is nothing new. The idea was afloat for as long as BA was to open Chengdu route. Nothing is firm yet. BA is expected to co op with at least two Chinese cartiers from 2015.
