+1 re CWS and TBS advice.
I'd go for row 1 if you havent done it before. In fact, I'd probably go for it even if you have.

For a solo flyer you have the best seat (or 2A as equal). 1A&K would be great if you're travelling with someone.

Thanks all, for your comments and views. I think I will stick to 2K. It's an evening flight (7PM or so) so there will be little to see once we leave the runway, and I'll probably be on my third G&T by then anyway. There's always a remote outside chance that the seat will be vacant anyway
Cheers

Fate has overtaken me. Having decided to stick to 2K I’ve arrived at JFK to find the 1900 flight cancelled. I’m rebooked on the 2130......in 1A. So fate has won the decision

Hopefully you’ll be on the sixth G&T before having to trust fate’s later 1A. Enjoy

I was good, I only had two, but I made up with the Malbec and I’ve just spotted the Glenlivet 18 on the shelf.
Yes it is my first time in a CCR and yes I can’t stop grinning. I just wish I could say that the novelty will wear off, but with 98% of my flights being EDI to LHR/LGW I suspect this will be my only opportunity.
Lobster bisque was excellent, steak was good. The staff are providing fantastic service.
Now, where’s that Glenlivet....

Yes I think it was one of the amazing staff members suggesting the glenlivet 18 that proved my downfall on my last JFK-LHR! :-)

I'm getting this seat map for a 777 flight in first class. Row 5 shouldn't exist. Any ideas if this is just a glitch, potential upcoming equipment swap, something else? Did spend quite a bit of time searching but couldn't find anything like this.

Myself and the good Doctor (wife) are flying First (for the First time) to BOS next year, 777-200. She prefers window seats so I've taken 1A + 2A, but we have the pick of the whole cabin at the moment.
Stick with what we have or better option?

You could stay with that, or if you don't mind a non-window seat you could take 2A and 2E. They are just across the aisle from each other so you will get to see more of each other than you would in 1A and 2A, but your wife would still have a window seat. You could take 1A and 1E, but personally I find row 2 is quieter. When I travel in First with my wife we always take 2A/E or 2F/K if available.

Keep it. Have done a few times with Mrs Petrus. You can pop over to chit-chat and dine together using the buddy seats, which are quite spacious in the 777-XXX cabin.
Then you have your own space to binge the VOD, sleep or read It is a really nice way to travel together.
