It is of course very subjective.

I'd suggest a read of the comments on this thread and depending on what's important to you make decision based on some of what you read here but there a lot on of non f comments to wade through

Second that. A380 ambient noise is relatively low so noise from toilets & galleys can be commensurately more intrusive.

Travelling as a couple I would opt for centre seats.

Thanks everyone for the comments -the link you posted Soupdragon62 was really informative. I think we will go for 2EF if available

There is also this thread, although there will be a lot of non-380 comments to wade through: Seating Queries: First

We have done both 2EF and 3EF and to be honest, I'd find it hard to express a preference for one over the other.

We were in 1A/K to LHR and had an unanticipated noise source - a woman from row 3 or 4 was using the front closet as her personal storage unit and was going into it
every 20 minutes, slamming the door every time. It was a day flight so it was more humorous than irritating. Then the truth came out: she threw a comment about how
1A is usually "her" seat, so I think she was trying to identify the interlopers and make her presence known. It wasn't worth addressing, but on an overnight flight it would have
been a different story. We had 2A and 2K back and they will be our default picks going forward.

BA has a couple 777s flying between LHR and JFK in Oct with the new CW seats. Those planes retrofitted with new CW suites will only have 8 F seats. As to which kind of F (the ones on the 787 or the regular 777/A380 ones) I'm not sure.

Do you know whether this trend will continue in May? I'm on a 777 in May, but they all look like the old layout.

777-300ER Seating Query

I was due to fly 1a on a 747 however my plans changed and am now on a 777-300er in seat 2a.

Row 1 is taken (besides for e/f).

Does anyone have advice on seating please, it is a red eye from Dulles. Thanks.

Hi.

2a on the 777 300 is very good. I would stick with it

I might go for 2k also as the right hand aisle might be quieter than the left
There is a 777 seating thread for more info
Regards

Row 1 has galley noise/light pollution, as does row 4, so rows 2 and 3 are best.

Question You First and seating queries -- any help ?

I managed to bag F on the A380 in December for a good price -- daytime outbound, overnight inbound.

As a solo traveller, I have 4A on the way out and 3K on the way back. The only other seats showing "available" on MMB on the outbound are the middle pairs. I suspect that given I am a lowly Blue that some of the seats could be available (not thinking 1A or 1K) but being held back.

Ideally I'd like to get 2A/K or 3A/K on the outbound and will keep checking periodically, however are YouFirst any good at helping with this type of query or will they merely say "what you see in MMB is what we see) ?

Many thanks for your help.
