TR with some BA elements

Absurdly over-long TR. The TR, like this trip, and my life over the past 6 months, kind of spiralled out of control.

Anyway, it includes some CE sectors to Malta, so you may be interested to take a look, just for comedy value, at how long it is possible for a TR to be.

Wow that is long! :)

I've read your intro, the BA segments and currently on the QR to DOH bit.

Odd choice of hotel, the IC Westminster when going between LGW and LHR. I'd definitely choose the IC Park Lane. Although I may give it another shot now that it's the Conrad just because Hilton Diamond guarantees lounge access and breakfast.

Cheapest car service Central London - LHR has to be UberX. I paid £37 fixed fare from the IC Park Lane to T5.

I know Sixth Freedom is a big fan of proper printed boarding passes with different colours/styles for different classes, but you've shown how that can go wrong. I'd love to try the QR LHR T4 lounge sometime though. I will ensure I go to a proper premium desk though so I don't have economy boarding passes ;)

Thanks for posting. I've enjoyed what I had time to read.

Good read and interested me given that I was in Malta two weeks ago.

Congrats on qualifying. All downhill from here on in ;)

Thanks, yes, I definitely need to try to edit it down a bit...

The Park Lane was insanely expensive for the dates I wanted p, plus I was curious to give the Westminster another try. I know how good the Park Lane property is.

Yes, do go to a premium desk - it was a complete joke about the fifth time I encountered an issue!! Had I known it would be an issue, I would have said something at the time my BP was issued!

Nice detailed long report Ian. Congrats on qualifying. I used to be an RA, and really miss it. Need to update my signature thing to reflect my lack of level there now, perhaps I'll do it when I get to GGL/CCR :). I'm interested in the Malta segments of your report, quite interested in going there for a long weekend sometime.

I think it's really good too, was there last week, and was quite happy sitting at the bar drinking all the various wines the barman was offering. I left there and boarded the A319 QR16, which I've done twice now, first time there were hardly any people on it and it was amazing (as far as a flight can be) and last week was full so it was just good. I transited there onto an A330 with slopey seats which makes the QR experience a bit 'meh' as my son would say...

...

Thanks!

Definitely worth a visit to Malta some time if you get the chance. I wasn't expecting a huge amount from the place so was very pleasantly surprised! Go to Gozo if you get the chance.
