I was on BA007 in the last few days and noticed the route had changed to WW crew, I think this is the first time since the route commenced that it has been WW so I am sure it will be nice for the crew to finally see some of Tokyo (or Yokohama) rather than Narita...

I was wondering how the Japanese speaking crew will be used to cover this? I thought a set number of crew positions for each route were covered by native speaking crew on this route, so now that fleet has two routes to cover will the number per flight decrease?

Our NRT based crew are now Tokyo based and cover both routes, there is a slight reduction of them on each flight going from 4 to 3.

Thanks CIHY.

Is there a set pattern of which crew positions they work in the flight? My flight had two Japanese crew in CW so I guess that mean ones perhaps one WT/WT+ and none in F.

Correct 2 in CW and 1 in WT but we have the ability to change working positions to suit the customer profile, our Tokyo crew can also work in First if needed.

I flew NRT-LHR a few months ago and had this hilarious WW cabin crew member doing all the PA announcements from the welcoming aboard to the pre-arrival briefing and it was just great. Not only did she sound like Joanna Lumley but she was witty and funny. She had me cracking up in my seat. You could hear a few faint giggles from the other crew as well. Absolutely fantastic she was!

Do MF also work out of LGW? I am pretty sure that on my recent flight VCE LGW there was a Customer Service Manager heading up the cabin crew!
