Silver Member with 1510 Tier Points

Hi all,

Logged in to the app today and was pleased that my segments posted over the weekend. What caught my eye though, is I'm now a silver member with 1510 TP.

How long after the minimum amount of TPs post until my card is upgraded?

Hi there,

It took a few days after I hit 1500 points (unlike you I planned ahead and didn't waste 10 tier points overshooting the threshold) for the status upgrade to take effect. Just hit reload every morning until you see that lovely gold gradient background on your account page.

3 days plus/minus one.

If you log in to BA.com you'll also see a small bit of text saying "You have achieved Gold membership" in place of the usual "X TPs left until Gold" progress bar.

Congrats!

I jumped from Bronze to Silver in February - took about 48 hours for the app and site to update, and the card arrived within seven days.

Thanks for your replies! I am flying tomorrow so I suppose I'll remain OWS on that flight. I am well over 4 BA flights, no worries there I wouldn't even be Silver unless I had enough flights.

My Bronze changed to Silver last week, it took 48 hours for the App to update. After the App got updated, it took another night for the seat selection to open up.

in my experience, status downgrades take a few days to appear as well.

If you're flying through LHR you can access the Flounge showing your account statement that proves you reached gold.

Reporting back as a data point for others whom it may concern - it took no more than 24 hours to have the status updated.

I tried this last week, the day my TP's posted giving me a balance of 1540. The lady on the Flounge desk was very helpful, but told me I wasn't allowed in until my status showed Gold rather than Silver, despite the number of points. She tried to "override the system", but it still wouldn't allow me in.

Of course, the next day my status changed to Gold!

I took a flight on Sunday which took me to 1500 points and those points posted yesterday. Overnight those points have reset to zero as yesterday was my renewal date - but I'm still silver. Will this correct itself over the next day or so?

This happened to me when I first reach Silver and it took a phone call to sort out. That was a few years ago so it may be better now or not.
