Recovering ancillary fees when you cancel a ticket (semi OT as U2)

Jewish Chronicle - Passenger beats Easyjet in Court

A North London business man bought a ticket on U2 to TLV and cancelled it half an hour later. He didn't dispute the cancellation charge (£60 and £17 credit card fee) but did quibble the seat allocation fee (£20) and baggage fee (£38) which Easyjet refused to refund.

He sued Easyjet and won. The Deputy District Judge agreed and awarded him £58 and £50 costs.

Let's not get as excited as the Daily Mail
Millions of Easyjet passengers could claim unreasonable fees
as this was a hearing in the County Court before a Deputy District Judge and creates no precedent, but it's interesting nonetheless.

(As are the vitriolic comments on the DM website)
