They used to fly this route back in the day....
Cityjet will be in trouble now!
That article also says that FlyBE are also going to start DUB-LCY in October. There should be some great fares on offer on the route!!! Expect a bloodbath!

“We are delighted to introduce direct flights from Dublin to London City Airport. Our customers wanted direct access to the Docklands and London’s financial centre and the excellent schedule we are offering means they have plenty of choice whether they are flying for business or pleasure,” said Willie Walsh, chief executive of International Airlines Group.
“The addition of this new route complements our existing eight times daily Dublin to London Heathrow service and helps further strengthen and develop business and tourism links between Dublin and London.”
Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison added: “British Airways resumed operations on the Dublin to London Heathrow route in the summer of 2012 and has gone from strength to strength over the past two years. With the addition of this welcome new service to London City Airport, British Airways will offer passengers a choice of two London airports from Dublin and we are looking forward to working with them to promote the new daily link between the two cities.”

I thought someone had raised a similar point before by saying could they fly to DUB and then connect and was told no BA don't sell 'half' the route ?
However might be a good seat filler/revenue if they did last minute bookings on any empty seats ?????????????

You can't book SNN-JFK on BA1/3, you can of course book DUB-LCY-JFK (with a stopover in SNN).

Why would DUB-LCY-JFK be a problem?
Joining the flight at SNN is not allowed, but a flight to DUB wouldn't facilitate this anyway as it's the other side of Ireland.

5 daily flights, city flyer really means business. I wonder how this will effect WX. It may be that DUB-LCY is a cash-cow for them, one of the few left after the AF/KL sell-off. This may be BA going for the jugular.

Ha ha ha !
I seem to remember that I suggested that LCY-DUB would be on the cards for cityflyer and was shot down..........
Nice to hear that this route has been announced. All we need now is DUB-LGW to complete another euro destination that BA flies to all three London airports from.

They had one, well inherited from bmi. Was it BAs decision to give it up or did the lease expire and the airport wanted to develop the area into a new lounge?
