BA Amex 2 for 1 ticket open jaw

Hopefully someone can answer my question.

Planning to fly to Canada and back from US using my BA Amex 2 for 1 voucher with a travelling companion.

Can't seem to book on the BA website. Do I have to call up? Will I get charged?

Thanks for your advice.

Yes you will have to call up for an open jaw 241 booking and there is a small offline fee.

See this thread and post #10 for more info and threads on this subject as quoted by jerry.

....which you can usually get waived if it is not possible to book online.

Thanks. Why a fee when it's not my fault I can't book an open jaw on their website?

I'd say "occasionally" rather than "usually" since they tightened up on this. You are more likely to get the fee waived if, for example, the website has a problem and you can't book something rather than the website not actually having the functionality to do something you want.

Sometimes and I wouldn't say usually in my experience. They do have a right to charge a passenger if it's not bookable online but mainly due to the websites functionality.

I know it's not your fault however there are limitations of what ba.com can and can't do.

I am just stating what BA charge which is on their website. All the best if it is waived!

Thanks. If we get charged, then so be it! I'll try to wriggle out of it.

Good luck and I think it is now more the exception to have it waived. In the big scale of the 241 savings it is a pittance though.

Please post back and let the board know if your powers of persuasion work

My experience this year is they've started mandating the fee more and you'll have a long argument to get it waived.

It is pathetic really.

Booked today over phone and they waived the telephone fee. Chap was very helpful and based in Newcastle.

Looking forward to my first trip on BA in First. Have done LH / LX numerous times as well as TG 3 times in First.
