Is it EVER possible to change name on Avios booking?

Is it EVER possible to change name on Avios booking?
I was going to be flying with my wife, now want my daughter to come instead.
Flight is sold out so if I cancel and try to rebook I assume will not find availability.
I presume they will say no way to change name on existing booking?

Once (last year) BAEC did a name change on a redemption booking for me.

Several months later I enquired about doing this and was told it was not (and never had been) possible.

The obstacle is not that it's impossible but company policy. I'm fairly sure if there is a compelling reason to change a name it can be done.

But I don't think changing your mind on who is going has ever been deemed a compelling reason. No harm in asking, but expect to be told no.

Easier to change your daughter's name than the ticket. All about priorities in life.
