BOS Immigration

Hi All
Arriving on the BA203 at 1850 into BOS Terminal E at 1850 on a Monday, anyone know if there are any delays through immigration or is it quite quick? Travelling F if it makes a difference.
Cheers

you can get an idea of past waiting times here

http://awt.cbp.gov/

But it very much depends on what happens on the day.

It's a bit of a lottery depending on other planes arriving. I tend to take the 213 and I've been from seat on plane to sitting in my rental car in under 15 minutes. I've also stood in a long snaking line for 2 hours....

Yep, it's completely random. My experience is similar to peterrabbit's - sometimes it's very quick and sometimes it takes hours. I've found no way to accurately judge which it will be.

And it makes no difference if you are traveling in F.

It was a disaster last night around 19:00... peak is from 18:00 to about 20:30, so very much depend on when you get in vis-a-vis other flights.

...unless there are no other flights landing just before you. I was in 5A and hence first off the plane in BOS a few weeks ago, and there wasn't another person to be seen in immigration.

the only diff travelling in F is that you usually get off the plane first so you're ahead of everyone else....doesnt help you much is there is a queue from other arriving flights though.

I've been into BOS a number of times and only ever waited about 10 mins.

Agree with the others that it's normally quick - where I find Boston can be a problem is getting through customs - sometimes a line snaking all around the baggage hall.

Indeed, sometimes the customs line is appalling.

It all depends what arrives ahead of the 239.

As a US citizen in F or CW, I don't usually wait more than a few minutes.

But if Icelandair, Lufthansa, and an AA charter from the Dominican Republic pipped the 239 at the post............

I seem to remember on one occasion being held on the aircraft to allow the immigration hall to clear.

It's a few years back now but I took that 7pm flight from LHR to BOS in F. Was amazed - immigration hall was empty AND the CBP agent was as friendly as could be.

But that's a sample of 1, and a somewhat dated one at that....

This exactly.

Conversely to a couple of other posters, I've never experienced a customs line.

Eeek. Not what I was hoping to hear ... especially it's a short night in the Hilton and an early morning connection the following day.
