Personal greeting with a club world amenities bag and a bottled water discreetly delivered to my Y seat by head flight attendant.

Returning in WT+ on Friday so I'll see how that works out.
Came back yesterday and again no acknowledgement in WT+. It was slightly intriguing that a couple the other side of the plane (so different CC) were brought glasses of something fizzy and the menu card before take off...
As an aside, the beef was even more inedible than usual.

I witnessed 2 Gold greetings on HEL-LHR this morning (in CE), but the CSM went back to the galley to check names on the iPad in-between. It made the 2 of them and people in their vicinity cringe because it felt so artificial... Not sure I'll want those when I reach Gold!

Finally got a greeting after 13 flights as gold (3 on AA), all in Y, when travelling MIA to LHR.

Glass of champagne after take-off, then five minutes later asked to grab my bag from the overhead and invited upstairs (747) to J. First ever free upgrade!

CC then followed up later to say she had moved me from my exit row seat as the pax next to me was overflowing their seat and she thought I was getting crushed. I then let her know the pax was a non-status colleague I had TCP'd into the seat to get him an exit row, so the tale would be a good office yarn. She then offered my colleague champagne as well.

CSD also visited to check I was happy.

Great effort all round by crew.

Haha. Great story. Luv it.. And what a great crew.
I get grated frequently and very professionally discreet with always something in mind like reserving a meal on MH . For me the best service concerning recognition.
On ba nothing ever happens.. Great crew on a380 to sin, for sure.. But I did get a manager greeting on the return flight after I had to complain again that there was no priority boarding but everyone crushed in those 2 lanes. Still for me the most annoying things that ba cannot get FastTrack str8

I know that I am about to reference another airline in the BA thread, but as a point of reference: I was on EK this past weekend (the BA flight was too expensive to get approved for this particular trip) and the person seated in front of me must have been Super Platinum or something because he received no less than three greetings prior to departure (that I can recall or noticed), he was asked multiple times during the flight if he wanted anything (which he clearly got more and more annoyed with), and he received another "thank you for giving us so much money" before landing.

The best, though, was after landing and whilst taxing to the gate, an attendant came back to ask him if he wanted to go up front to First (so that he disembark before the rest of us peasants), and the sight of a fellow passenger with bags in hand walking to the front of the plane caused EVERYONE else on the plane to think they could do the same, and chaos ensued.

My takeaway: apparently it is possible to take things too far.

It's interesting. I was only ever greeted once on BA when I travelled a number of times with them while Gold (Y, Y+ and C). However, on the two times I've flown Qantas the purser came round to talk to everyone in C

I've had 2 from my last 4 flights this week.
Usual "thanks for being a loyal customer.....if there's anything you need, don't both asking as you'll not see me again during the remaining 10hrs of this flight" sort of thing.
Both in CE and CW. Nothing in the ET flights although the cabins were rammed.

The CSM on the BA795 HEL -> LHR this morning was very impressive. She introduced herself to each Gold/GGL member at the start of the flight and struck up a conversation with them — or at least I'm assuming so. As a lowly Silver I did not have the privilege but she made the effort to address everyone as Mr/Mrs <last name here> and memorised drinks that everyone was having, keeping people topped up throughout and being very proactive.

I'm sure one of the other TP runners who are of that status can confirm that was the case as I recognised at least 4 faces from BA798 8 hours before!

I don't care for the greeting, but now that I think of it I never had any greetings in ET. The few I had where always in CE/CW. By the way, am I wrong to think that in F there is always some sort of greeting at the seat regardless of status?

I had the same last week in a long haul Y flight. I’m not that fussed by the greetings though.

Yes, us golds got a little chat. Very proactive crew. Did think it would be easier to just offer everyone some water whilst we waited! Glad we didn't get a bus gate at HEL!

On my one and only flight in 1A the CSD personally escorted me to my seat. Mind you, after 4 hours in the lounge maybe he sussed that I needed the guidance.....

Another flight in 1A due in June so I'll have a benchmark.
