I booked this fare last week for August/Sept directly on the CX website.

Thanks dutch.

Can't get those fares for December - assume they are seasonal? I am looking to travel 27th December (or around that time - flexible) to SYD and back 16th January (again, flexible a few days each side).

BA ex OSL seems best bet at the moment though there's an Avios F seat outbound with BA / QF and I get CX F back on Avios from HKG so tempted to play around with those. or do CX F to HKG and then Malaysian J onwards though the cost will come to nearly the same as the OSL fare (£2,139) plus 180k Avios.

Any other suggestions for SYD in December back in January?

chris1979,

Fares are aroung €3900 with CX ex-Ams, so OSL-SYD with BA is indeed better fare.
Have also checked BRU,DUS more expensive then ex-OSL.

Just wanted to chip and say thanks to everyone who is posting the fares to Sydney, very interesting. I'm currently looking at the Oslo one for a late September/early October departure. The Cathay one from Amsterdam looks fabulous and I'd rather this that the BA one but it's not within my dates. Crystal ball time , does anyone reckon the travel period may be extended?

valid for travel commencing on/before 30sep14.

So BA ex-Osl is good fare and option.

Thank you. I think the OSL one is growing on me. Gets 57k avios as well (incl BAPP) which can't really be refused (though was going to use joker for F).

Can I use joker and GUF1 to get that ticket into F?

Booked via TA they book into I class and request upgrade into A-class upgrade via BA when reservation is made.

If booked via BA GGL, you will need Z-class.

Sorry for going OT - but does anyone have the links to the cheap ex-EU fare thread? I have been looking for a couple of days but FT Search is failing me!
