What meals and which sequence on a BA18 from ICN to LHR in CW?
Hi,
I've looked for hints elsewhere in the forum but with no luck. What meals and in which sequence should I expect on an ICN-LHR in CW leaving at 10:30 AM? |
Apologies for bumping up the thread, but I'd really like to know if I should avoid breakfast before the flight :-)

I've only flown First on the ICN route (and only on the lunchtime departures) but expect you would be provided with a full meal service on departure after the initial drinks rounds. |
I have flown this route several times in the last 6 months: there will be a full lunch service after take off, and a "light" meal before arrival into London.
The ICN lounge has indeed little to offer, apart from a seat and quiet place to wait before boarding... Go ahead and have breakfast at the hotel, don't avoid it! |
Thank you!

I would also recommend eating at the hotel or the restaurants in ICN. Sadly BA uses the OZ lounge even with F-section still really doesn't live up to a flagship lounge.
|
There's also a CX lounge at ICN, with a slightly better choice of nibbles but you can get caught out by it closing mid-morning so you get chucked out, only to be readmitted later if you have been well behaved!
Have just arrived in ICN coincidentally on a very quiet flight - great service as always on this route, but yet again with a 747 safety video running on a 777... The crew looked as bemused as I did to hear the upper deck mentioned! Don't know if it's just this aircraft but this is the third time I've heard this 747 video on a 777... |
Asiana Lounge at Concourse ICN
I actually really liked the Asiana lounge. I didn't try the food, as I wasn't very hungry and wanted to make sure I had enough space left for lunch, but the options looked better than what's offered for breakfast at the Galleries club lounges!
Photos below. Do you think I should also post them elsewhere in the forum? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.37.56.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.38.14.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.38.45.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.38.53.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.39.11.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.40.51.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.41.12.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.41.32.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.58.36.jpg |
By the way, this was the ridiculous queue for security at ICN. There were also many people behind me.

(I have generally found that at least one other entry point tends to be considerably less crowded) |

If you happen to come across this sort of queue, there are 2-3 other entry points further east of the terminal which you could try - you still come out at the other side within the same terminal, just with a bit more walking, and you might just save yourself a lot of queueing!

Just to bump this in case anyone has any recent info for ICN-LHR.
Babyfish will be taking the BA18 next week. The security line looks terrible. How long to allow just for that? Will be in CW and a OWS if that counts for anything :). Is it easy to find other entry points, rather than stand in the first queue. |
