In GF. Currently there are 3 Champagnes: Taittinger Prelude, Taittinger Rose NV, and Castelnau. Quite a reasonable selection of different kinds (though I still miss the Taittinger Millesime, there wasn't even any hiding in the side Champagne bar like there used to be).

Food (for me at least) was some of the salad (competent), the cold Indian rice (nice), and the Penang chicken curry which was good. Coconut creamy, slightly sweet, medium strong, good-sized pieces of chicken.

The other food items looked substantial as well. I think the inedible slop days are over. Fortunately! They should never have happened.

Sounds good - looking forward to sampling that Penang curry tomorrow.

Breakfast at present isn't too bad.

The Cumberland sausage doesn't have too much taste.
Nice mushrooms and scrambled egg.
Those rosti / hash brown things aren't too bad - taste like oven chips up to a point.
Black pudding nice enough.

Had to look at 3 bars to find the Tattinger. Loads of Castelnau out and about.

All I can say is wow!

Off to LAS in F so in CCR and had beet root salad and the roast which were ok for pub food. Feeling peckish I went next door and had one of the best chillies I've ever tasted. All food look excellent, plenty of enthusiastic staff and a manager to boot!

It's quite busy ATM but what a great place to be!

Biggest change in buffet seems to be replacement of pork belly and ribs with sausages, steak pies and mash. No chilli con carne. Then there are 2 curries. Cold section seems to be the same.

All in T3.

Thanks haasha- saves me another wodge of typing too!

FOR THE RECORD ONLY: previous menu

Flounge Menu LHR: Entered service 30 October 2013
Departed service: 12 March 2014.

Breakfast

Please help yourself
For your convenience, there is a self-service buffet available for breakfast, including freshly grilled bacon, free range scrambled eggs, Dingley Dell pork sausages, black pudding, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, hash browns, and farmhouse toast. [Not mentioned but always on offer: mushrooms].

Brought to your table

Please order via one of our lounge hosts:

Traditional porridge oats served with honey and cinnamon, or sultanas and brown sugar.

Cured kippers served with poached egg

Great British breakfast sandwich with grilled back bacon and fried egg on a toasted wholemeal bloomer

Boiled egg with toasted toasted soldiers

Eggs benedict (actually only one egg).

(note that nothing is marked as vegetarian, but I guess the boiled egg and porridge must be).
Note that you can swap items around a bit, so it's OK to ask for kippers and fried eggs, for example.

Rest of the Day
Noon to close

Please help yourself
For your convenience, there is a self-service buffet available, including a selection of fresh salads, hot dishes and indulgent treats

Brought to your table
Please order via one of our lounge hosts

Winter parsnip soup
with a hint of chilli, served with parsnip chips (vegetarian).

Hot sandwiches
- Barbequed British pulled pork in a warm deli roll with ruby coleslaw

- Feta cheese, sun blushed tomato and black olive tapenade
in a ciabatta bun with root vegetable crisps (vegetarian).

Classic Caesar salad [unchanged]

The BA burger [unchanged however with chips rather than wedges]
21 day aged Birchstead British beef burger with baked thick cut chips

Roast salmon fillet [was poached and different vegetables]
served with creamed potatoes, roasted butternut squash and nut free spinach pesto.

Oriental hot and sour chicken
with steamed coriander rice [this dish is from a Malaysian recipe]

Desserts
Sticky toffee pudding
with Cornish vanilla ice cream.

White chocolate cheesecake
with a fruits of the forest berry compote.

British cheese board
Somerset Camembert, Coastal Cheddar, blue Shropshire.
My experience is that the precise selection of cheeses will alter somewhat, and some may come from somewhere which hasn't been British for quite a while, but it's all good, however frankly you may as well serve yourself from the buffet. Note you may find apple chutney on the hot buffet table end.
