It can also be had on Hotwire, usually for a 25% saving. Lowest I've seen is £87 (eg 21st Feb).
With a little more effort the Hotwire deal can be found as an Expedia Secret Saver, to get a higher level of cashback: 10% vs 4%.

And can Accor Plat be used with a Hotwire booking to get lounge access and room upgrade?

I guess you can't be certain there's isn't another hotel it might be but I have booked this way for a friend. If you switch to their Standard List you'll see the Sofitel is their only 5* rating in the area and the other possibilities like the Hiltons are rated 4*. The high satisfaction rating and facilities also point to the Sofitel.
I've had an upgrade and lounge access when staying at the Sofitel Gatwick through Hotwire. I think my only stays at Heathrow were lastminute.com and I didn't get any special treatment, though I'm not sure I even added my number: we were only there from 10pm to 6am. Wouldn't bank on it.

And I just got the Sofitel for £109 - not the amazing £88 it has been in the past, but it's a good enough price for me in the hotel I want to stay in, and still £40 cheaper than Sofitel's advance purchase rate! So thank you from me too, continentalclub!

Seeing wide availability of the Sofitel T5 throughout the summer months on both Lastminute and Hotwire at 121GBP weekday and 110GBP weekends. Slightly better pricing on the US Hotwire site if you pay in USD.
Not the great sub-100GBP deals of last year but if you need THAT hotel and you can take advantage of the Lastminute Mastercard 10% discount or another discount code, maybe worth it to you. Better deal for weekdays at these numbers.

I thought lastminute had stopped advertising it as a 5* secret hotel and instead list it as a 4* secret hotel amongst the others offered so that it was not obvious it was the Sofitel? In any case it can be confirmed as the Sofitel by comparing tripadvisor review count.
