Just picked up on twitter that Willie Walsh has announced from October all Dublin and Belfast flights will depart and arrive from T5, for those of us on the Island it should make transferring that little bit nicer.

Nice bit of news for Irish customers ;)

Does that mean that a similar timescale for other BA flights to leave T1 is about to be announced ?

Woohoo! Excellent news - am averaging once a week to DUB so far this year so may even convince me to go for CCR if I'm in the ballpark later this year

Although slightly worried about how close that plane is to the Aviva stadium - good 10km or so short of the runway

A little OT, but ...

Am I correct that BHD-LHR (stopover) - DUB (or vice versa) should price as an RFS redemption for 4,500 Avios and modest fees?

How easy is a ground transfer between BHD and DUB?

It's great for those who can easily reach both airports by public transport as they can use it as a very cheap return trip to London as BHD-LHR[stopover as long as you like]-DUB is classed as a one way for Avios purposes.

In theory you could do the same with MAN-LHR-LBA, etc but I've not been able to get it to work online.

Easy enough. Bus from BHD to the Europa Bus Centre (£2-50ish) then a coach from there to DUB (£10ish).

Driving yourself would be a quick 2 hours.

They should do it on the phone, or so iv read on here
