Looking to use a GUF2 on a WTP cash booking to upgrade to CW for LHR - MAA.
There appears to be lots of WTP T class availability and both CW I class plus reward availability in August.
Online if I price WTP on its own it gives me £2,621.62 for 2 passengers in WTP but if I try the same flights using the GUF2 the WTP prices out at £3,229.62. Is this a case of the linked upgrade from WT to WTP price not working when the GUF2 is applied?
If so reading the above thread it appears I need to booked the WTP ticket and then separately contact BA by phone to apply the GUF2. Have I interpreted the above mentioned work around correctly?

First of all, if you're using a GUF, you don't need to be concerned about fare classes in WTP. You only need to be able to see I class in CW (which you do).
If I class is available then the only cost difference between the WTP booking and the upgrade to CW with the GUF will be the differences in taxes and fees. The best way to check that is to do a dummy booking in WTP (note the taxes and fees) and do a dummy booking in CW (check the taxes and fees). You should be asked to pay the difference between the two sets of taxes and fees which will amount to several hundred pounds per person.
In your post, you also talk about a 'linked upgrade from WT to WTP' and I'm not sure what you mean by that.

A couple of things at play.
- yes many of the WTP fares are actually an upgrade from economy, so the taxes and fuel charges can jump a little
- taxes and other charges are higher in club than WTP. The tax element is a U.K. tax on premium bookings so one we cannot blame BA for.
- you could do an ex EU to bring the price down. Both due to lower taxes as a transit pax and BA competing with other airlines.
in terms of the upgrade you have interpreted corrected. You can have you travel agent or BA do it all at one time. In that way you will be confirmed at time of booking.

If I want to apply a GUF2 to a BAH booking I assume I can book first online and then apply the voucher afterwards by phone provided the relevant booking class is still available. To be clear do I need to phone BAH or GGL in this situation?
Thanks

Would one be able to use a GUF coming from one person with a 2-4-1 coming from the other party in the booking or do they both need to come from the same person?

Just curious if anyone else on here has "lost" a GUF2 over the last couple of days? My wife and I each seem to have one missing since earlier this week. The "My eVouchers" section of "Manage my Account" shows the ones we've used. I'd like to think it's just BA's IT playing tricks on us but would be intrigued to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I redeemed one earlier this week so I'm confident I should have had 1xGUF2 and 2xGUF1 remaining.
Geordie405 please let me know how you get on raising this with BAEC. Thanks
