MMB/Expertflyer Aircraft Codes:
321 = Airbus A321
32Q = Airbus A321neo

UPDATE: Initial posts are now largely outdated but the seat plans and descriptions in post #1 are up-to-date and reflect the densified cabin layouts of both the CEO and NEO aircraft. Below is the basic summary from the WIKI on the "Densified A321" Thread

All BA's existing A321ceo aircraft have now been densified from 205 to 218 seats.
New A321neo aicraft are being added, these start with registration G-NEOP and onwards. These have 220 seats, with Row 9 having 6 seats rather than 4 seats.
There are no A321 205 seat aircraft now in service.
The first A321neo entered service on 30th November 2018.

A321ceo (CY218):
Seats with extra knee space are in rows 1, 10, 23 (pairs of 2 seats) and 24 (A and F only).
Seats in row 37 (back row) have no window view.
They have Pinnacle seats throughout.
There are middle seat tables in CE.
See this post from @CWS for some photos
AeroLOPA seat plan: Click here

The following elevation diagrams of the A321 CEO (type 21V) cabin show the relationship between seats and windows. Note, while the elevations show the arrangement of the DEF seats, the ABC side is effectively a mirror of what you can see here.

A321neo (CY220):
Extra Legroom seats are in rows 1, 16 and 27
Seats in roww 37 (back row) have no window view.
Rows 1-14 have Pinnacle Seats. Rows 15-37 feature Slimline Recaro Seats with no recline.
There are NO middle seat tables in CE.
AeroLOPA seat plan: Click here

Here are the corresponding cabin elevations of the A321 NEO (type 32Q). As with the CEO, the elevations show the arrangement of the DEF seats with the ABC side effectively a mirror of what you can see here.

I'm booked on BA451 from PMI to LHR on 13th Sept, in Club Europe. I'm slightly confused (not difficult!) by the seat plan, which I've copied below.

After reading the posts in this thread, I've selected 9C (I'm pretty tall, so leg room is more important than a window, for example). However, I've not seen a route map that includes rows 10 & 11 in Club Europe. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is 9C still the best seat?

Thanks in advance!

So long as the CE cabin stays this big, then 9C is a good one for leg room. 9A has even more space, technically.

Edit - unless it is the densified A321, in which case see below!

Row 10 is the exit row with those seats having huge legroom

Based on that image a few posts up... Is it only 1 seat on each side of the aisle in row 9. I have the same seatmap for an upcoming flight and there are two of us traveling. Only row 8 has 2 seats together, not sure if row 9 is better. Any pics?

Think I've just worked out that the reason there is only 1 seat showing in row 9 either side of the aisle is that I'm flying CE and the seat next to me will be blocked.

View from 10F on the densified 321, crew seat only on the F side. Legroom more or less unlimited.
Even better on 10A since no crew seat (and no 9A) in front. On short CE, food service might not make it to row 10, only made the drinks on an AMS run.

Thanks... For the densified A321s, are 9BCDE better or worse than 10BCDE - which ones offer better legroom (both rows are sold as "exit" on BA, but...)

Does anyone know if all the A321s densified now? I've had a few seat changes off the back of un-densified planes becoming densified in coming months; wondered if this was the standard now

On the densified 321 row 10 is in my view by far so much better with excellent leg room, row 9 is normal leg room. Even if only a middle was left I'd still take any of the 10's compared to row 9.

I'm not sure if there is more legroom on row 9, 9E also make a very strangle quasi-Club World ying yang with the crew seat. Think of row 10 as a long haul bulkhead/exit row, no overhead bins above the exits as well so that's a good(?) thing allowing easy in and out. Row 10 easily the best seat, probably better than row 1 if you are not bothered about getting off first.

For the reconfiguration of the densified 321s, I think there is a separate thread for that (densified-a321) , but FYI it was G-MEDN.

The last A321 is in Prestwick being densified. There are now no non-densified A321s operating. The first A321neo is also about to be delivered.

I've been moved to 24F (cheers BA) from 10A, both are exit rows.

I notice the plane has 37 rows, is it a new A321 NEO?

Most importantly will I have a window?!

No likely a normal A321 ceo. (If either Row 9 or Row 23 has a full 6 seats then neo. Can't remember which of the two. Neo is CY220 not CY218 like the refits.)

NO WINDOW (neo might be different.)

Row 37 has no window on ALL A321ceo

I think this may help. There are quite a few questions re A320 neos vs existing A320 and densified A321.

A320 neo - only on T3 routes so far, not being used for T5 routes yet

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A320 - existing - none are densified yet

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A321 - all A321s now densified, no more CY205 configs left (see here for CY205 seat map for reference British Airways A321 CY205 Seat Map)

He probably meant a new A321neo as 37 rows and will be T5 from when they get them imminently.

According to BA Source G-EUUW has been to PIK for a refit to CY180 (same as A20N) . (Pinnacle throughout with CE tables. No clue on power). Also cannot confirm this myself. This could be wrong.

Indeed no more of this configuration so maybe a MOD or someone should edit this title and first post and add a Wiki post with the new layout? Or maybe a new thread?
