Out of interest I have seen other threads that suggest Tia Maria has been replaced with Kahlua? I've also seen a couple of posts suggesting Port isnt available on all short hall routes or is this just an availability issue?

Update on LGW CE bars Band4 flights:

No Port, actually very few liqueurs Baileys, Martini Bianco, Cointreau, Southern Comfort, Tia Maria, Drambuie.

Sorry about the rather small selection.

Actually it is similar at LHR and I am going to try and compile a list when I am back at work. I think we still have port on Band 4 but not completely sure, so I will get back to you eventually. I don't do many Band 4 flights, so it may take a while!!!

I'm pleased to confirm that we still have it

Oh, and Tio Pepe sherry as well. I've never had anyone ever ask for sherry in well over a decade though

Please do! In case the crew aren't sure where to find it, it's next to the vodka

Thanks you very much for the research into this! I'm a regular on LHR-SVG and LHR-ABZ...good to see hot breakfast still applies on the morning short haul routes ha ha!

Having read this I think I'll ask for cherry on my SVG-LHR flight this Friday!!

I always ask for a Sherry when flying too. Crew are often surprised by me asking for it when i'm in my 20s. TBH, I have found it sporadic what bands/routes you can get it on - sometimes you can get it on a Band 1/2 flight, and recently I got it on a Band 3 WAW flight. It's hit or miss.

When i do ask for it, the bottle looks pretty battered and dusty!

I just wish it was a sweeter variety - the Tio Pepe is a bit dry!

I'll be checking the sherry stocks on some Band 1 and 2 flights in the next few days. Will try to update as soon as I can

Do you expect that the oldtimers who work for BA would know what's
hot and what's not

I sometimes take a sherry - specifically when I have asked for Port and been told that there is none...

Short haul catering guide 2014

Just last week I walked into my local, St Stephens Green, and had a wee sherry with ale. The woman behind the bar didn't know what it was. Had to point her in the direction of the big cheap bottle of Croft perched high above the bar.

It seems us sherry drinkers are a dying breed!

Time to reinvent it like they have with Vodka and Gin!
