Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

- on other gift cards: I eat in pizza express once a week (no need to judge - there's a reason). I use my tastecard to get 2-4-1. I assume I can use the tastecard and then after the discount pay with the gift card (ie it's not an "offer" that i can't combine with the tastecard?). Is there any reason why I wouldn't pay for those weekly meals with gift vouchers and thus earn the 150 CC (and thus the avios) given I earn the BAPP avios for buying the gift card anyway?

TIA
Gift cards from Tesco is an often overlooked way to boost club card balances. Providing you buy in £50's, you're earning triple point and your usual credit card spend.

3V are the virtual visa cards, have a look at 3vprepaid.com for details.

This is a great deal, you normally end up with between 85 and 90% discount.

None of the BOGOF on line offers can match it, they are often very limited menu wise and may exclude Fri, Sat nights. With Tesco vouchers you can eat off the full menu and are not restricted to be seated before 7pm type conditions.

In the same place. [Edit: It's worth mentioning that some shops have several places they keep the gift cards: near the tills, on a dedicated rack, at the end of aisles, and near the greetings cards.] If they weren't there either the shop doesn't stock them—a problem near me unfortunately—or another FTer has got there before you.

It seems perfectly sensible to me—unless there's a better offer you are better redirecting spend you would make anyway through Tesco for the points and the Avios spending (though I assume Pizza Express accepts AmEx?).

90%? So you can combine clubcard tokens with the BOGOF etc. deals?

No extra points coupons in my latest batch. Maybe they're on to me as an Avios hoarder?
(The 210 extra points for a bottle of Smirnoff that I got in December was nice, though!)

My vouchers this time are all money off. Maybe Tesco is focus on cash - as the market is now more price sensitive?

Converting clubcard vouchers to Avios

Any chance of a promotion to increase the £2.50 to 600 avios conversion rate?

There is always a chance. Hasn't been one for a while though.

Picked up whilst searching the net but not checked myself:

Spend £60 or more on Nicorette between 21 Jan and 11 April 2014 and receive 1000 clubcard points. The purchases can be made as you wish in the period.

I'll still use it but I was disappointed in the lack of vouchers this quarter.

There's a competition on for conversion till the end of feb so I think unlikely for now (shame as I have to convert some that are due to expire)

"For every £5 in Clubcard vouchers that you exchange until 28th February 2014, you'll be entered into their prize draw. The prize is a 7-meal course for you and up to five friends prepared by a top-class chef in your home."

Has anyone had any codes for Tesco wine bonus points. Seemed to be plenty towards the end of the year but not seen much since!

They haven't sent me any for the last 3 quarters and looking online shows they aren't sending me any this quarter either.

Oh well, I'm quite happy sticking with M&S and Waitrose

I've only got money off vouchers this time around, no extra points (maybe I have too many stored)
