Also tried the Howard Park Sauvignon / Semillon blend which was really rather unpleasant - the sauvignon characteristics appeared magnified and the phrase 'cat's pea on a gooseberry bush' would sum it up. I hope it was better on the ground. The Pouilly-Fuisse was good and the Lawsons Resrve Pinot Noir excellent.

Castelnau Champagne freely available at LGW GC, NOW, several bottles, just a mistake or change of policies?

Not that good though, preferred much more AY's HEL lounge Nicholas Feuillatte.

Missing any classed-growth red Bordeaux in GF for months, was happy finding a 1994 Chateaux Haut-Bergey (Pessac-Léongnan) in CCR today. A great mature wine, very enjoyable!

White card waits for me in ultimo november.

Hi,

No Tattinger Prelude in LHR T5 GF just now ( Just Castlenau ( not that good) and Tattinger Rose ( will try it later)

Regards

TBS

Ps the rose is quite good but would not have a lot of it but it is better than the castelneau

JFK CCR serving Castelnau earlier this week - rather confusing that LGW Flounge serves 'better' rose champagne than a CCR (LP a couple of weeks ago)?

I appreciate it's all subjective but I haven't heard many people praise the Castelnau offering....

Castelnau is better than Monopole (I can drink Castelnau in a Bucks Fizz, Monopole isn't even good enough for that), seem a bit disappointing that JFK CCR is serving the stuff.

I think Castelnau in the JFK CCR would be very disappointing if permanent. Tbh I don't think it is though, maybe a stock shortage or mistake? It was LPGS when I was there in August.

And it was still LPGS at the end of October

Any idea when the BA SH Champagne is going to change? Sick of Monopole. Vile! A miniature bottle of LP Rose would look so cool. (probably doesn't exist)..

I started flying CE regularly nearly 10 years ago now and whilst I can't quite remember what was then, Pommery is the only SH champers I can remember before the Monopole times. Unfortunately, I suspect the downturn will last for a while yet. To think I got annoyed when Lanson Black Label was in CW...

There was a bottle of Chateau Lynch-Bages 1998 in the Flounge at LHR today. I made sure to get a (very) large glass!

They must have found it back in the cellar somewhere. I went through quite a lot of that stuff back in 2009 or so. Back then it took a lot for me to want anything other than the CDC 1999.
