  • Some TP runs can be booked online at aa.com. Be sure to use the Sort by schedule option in order to locate the exact flights you found on the ITA Matrix tool.

Thanks again.
I was able to get these to price on aa.com's multi-city search by doing the following:
* Go to https://www.aa.com/reservation/multiCitySearchAccess.do
* AMS-LHR
* LCY-JFK
* EWR-HNL
* HNL-EWR
* JFK-LCY
* LCY-AMS

Under "How Do You Want to Search?", choose Schedule, and choose 50 flights from the dropdown instead of the default of 10, in order to see the full list of flight routes.

I also found that on the return, JFK-LHR-AMS priced up at about the same (though you would obviously get 110 fewer tier points.

I just booked a variant of the above for 1200TP (I think) at around £1.7k, omitting the HEL hops and favouring the new AA A321 transcontinental both ways over the higher-TP scoring JFK-EWR schlepp and 6 hour stint on a 738, but tacking on a LAX-HNL too.

not sure if this will work for anyone, but IB has some really low fares to central america being discussed in the MR forum. 250 euros return, though in Y.

If you can stomach Y (or manage to UUA - possible?) then it's a cheap way to get to Mexico and start an ex-CUN run.

Hi Everyone,

Having checked the fare rules and used ITA to explore up until the June cut-off, I can 'only' get around £2070 for AMS-HEL-LHR-LCY-JFK-EWR-LAX-HNL and return.

I can only stay one night at HNL but I can't see the fare rules prohibit this provided it's a Saturday?

Is the higher price because availability at the circa £1700 mark has gone?

OSL-LAX via LHR available in April for around £1250.

Should be able to add a few stops to bump up the TPs. Can't get it to price from
LCY, though.

Think it depends on dates. 13th to 26th April still coming in at £1700

A-ha! I knew there would be a simple explanation. Thank you.

OSL - LHR - BOS - LAX (A) - YYZ - OSL - LHR

gives

40 + 140 + 210 + 140 + 140 + 40 = 710 TP.

Re Gold - the other benefit (to my mind anyway) is the increased economy redemption availability - I've used that a lot within Europe and find it very useful indeed on last-minute redemptions.

I'd also be interested re. stopover and length of stay rules. I'd like to visit Hawaii for a holiday (not so much of a pure TP run, I know!), but would also like to look at including a LAS and perhaps MIA stop. My understanding from previous I7 fares was that you were only allowed <24h on connections on the way out and back and it was only at the destination you could stay >24h?

That's right, if you want a stopover in the US look at the HEL to CUR/SKB deal instead.

There's a thread about that here

Ah OK - sorry I think I missed the chat about this deal (or got confused and didn't notice something different!) - do you have a link at all? SKB could be of interest - enjoyed my SJU TP run towards the end of last year!

I need to go to the US during the first week of March and return to the UK around April 20. I have not been able to find any fares to HNl and return on aa.co.uk for less than £1956. Have any of you found any better ones ? Cheers, O
