Hi Everyone,
I've been sporadically visiting this forum over the last year, to glean some knowledge. I still consider myself a newbie though. I am in need of your assistance to obtain about 300 TPs to achieve BA silver.
I have a planned flight sometime (2nd or 3rd week) in February 2015 to Entebbe in Uganda, from London Airports, or possibly departing from closer European ones.
What's the best way to achieve the 300 TP points with Oneworld alliance partners, and keeping the costs down (economy flights if possible).

I'm based in London, so the nearest airports are Heathrow, Gatwick & Stansted. I would consider some of the closer European ones e.g. CDG, AMS etc. as depart & return airports.

300 TP at minimum cost is painful on that route, but
LHR - SOF in Club Europe for £466
Followed by
SOF - DOH - EBB on QR for £414 in economy
Would do it.
However you'd probably be better off doing them on two separate trips, which would give you a lot more options and a wide body into DOH, flying ex-LHR on Qatar.

In my experience (flights earlier this year sold and ticketed by AA, with AA flight numbers, but operated by AS) this was not the case. No Avios, no TPs, retro-claims rejected.

I'm looking to collect some TP's on my way back from UK to Germany at the end (start) of Feb (Mar). Quite happy to do some sight seeing via transfers to boost the TP bank.
I tried to be flexible when I searched and used a number of Airports in Southern Germany and Switzerland however couldn't get things to work quite right. BA had some generous Club fares ex STR rt, however changed to a single route they started approaching €500 which is a little less reasonable.
Any suggestions on some TP boosting options? Backup plan is LX has some nice fares to LCY, though they don't help me much with my BA TPs

AS flight booked as an AS code should at least get avios, whilst if booked under AA codeshare gets TPs as well. Any reason given for your rejection.

I didn't press the matter after my claims to BAEC for the AA codeshares on AS were rejected, as I didn't need the 30 TPs and was able to claim AA miles instead. So I didn't get an explanation, I'm afraid -- just learned not to book anything similar in the future if Avios, TPs or status benefits are important.

That is not what the ba page in partner earning says unless you were on a fare code which doesn't earn.

1) The BA website - on the link kindly provided by KARFA - clearly says that codeshares on oneworld airlines using Partner metal get TPs and Avios.
2) AS is precisely in this situation. AS is a partner with both AA and BA as it happens, it's not oneworld (yet!) however. AA has a long list of AA coded flights on AS metal, around the Anchorage - Hawaii - Los Angeles triangle - and quite a number outwith that area too.
3) Despite what it says on the website, AA and AS didn't include a TP credit aspect in their codesharing agreement; the pre-existing BA-AS Partnership agreement also doesn't have it in.
4) Therefore when AA process the BA member's travel, it does not award TPs for the service, and they don't credit.
5) If the BAEC member then requests them retrospectively, BA sends it to AA. AA don't play ball, BA has no agreement with AS on the issue.
6) Despite all the above, at least one person around here did get TPs and Avios automatically (namely me).
Now there may be some people getting discretionary TPs from BA due to this silliness, I guess having status will help in that respect, but basically BA's website says one thing, custom and practice is different. Kindly avoid shooting the messenger!

TP run advice
Hi all! I was wondering if you could help? I am considering going on a TP run sometime next year and just have a couple of questions, sorry if I am being a noob! For AA flights where it mentions AA.com for the TP run, does that mean I will have to book the flight on the AA website and then claim the avios later on within the BAEC website?
Secondly, I am looking to travel to Las Vegas from Manchester on 17/05/2015, returning 22/05/2015 and I am looking to achieve 600 TP as cheaply as possible! Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! I am looking to spend less that £1000 but any advice would be fantastic! I am willing to travel from London if that is better. The travel dates are not fixed exactly but I must be in Las Vegas between those dates

You can book these runs on AA.com if you wish. If you do so, do not log in with your AA number at any time. Buy the ticket as a "guest", and type in your BAEC number when asked for a frequent flier number. AA and BA know each other well and the flights should be credited automatically without any problems.
But there is nothing special about AA.com; these fares are published in the public tariff and any competent travel agent could book them. However most travel agents are not competent so I wouldn't bother with that. (There are exceptions of course and those travel agents are a mixture of fantastic and a godsend.) The best place is either aa.com or on the telephone to BA.
