Think we had 3 FTers in HNL last year at some stage? was it LA and KARA and Billingham involved as well? We could break that 'record'.

Sorry, but I think that record has been broken. On my TP run in April there were six of us on the Baby Bus (ALDEBARAN from Italy, K21467 + OH from Germany, MMGC and PMGC from Scotland and myself.

K21467 + OH went as far as LAX but the four of us had a great weekend in HNL.

During the same weekend PINKCAT and one other were there but we didn't get to meet up with them.
I love a challenge.....

I see the ex CPH thread all over the place and lots of people using that to make it to Hawaii.

Is it possible to use this route to get out to Hawaii next year - late September / early October - we'd like to go for a weekish. Not bothered about getting ridiculous TP but wouldn't mind making Silver...

Added bonus if it is a fare that can be booked through BA Holidays and combined with a hire car so just paying a deposit now? I often find fares on ITA but cannot make them be BA bookable - though I did manage on an ex-AMS to TPA but that was amateur in comparison.

Not sure or CPH extends that far into 2015 - definitely works for July and August.

It's a fare that has been available during previous sales (date wise) so you should be able to get a similar price at a later stage. What's "different" about CPH is that it's not a sale fare with a restricted booking window but it's a "normal" fare available for certain periods of time.

Re BA holidays: not sure. The simpler you keep the routing (less TPs), the more likely you'll be able to book it on BA.com. That should allow you to turn it into a BA holiday booking. Should. I think. I would imagine.

Thanks for the reply - might wait and see what becomes available in that case - tend to take holidays outside of when the kids are off school!

KARFA and I failed to meet up in HNL earlier this year despite our best efforts, and I think I was on one flight at the same time as chris1979 but only realised afterwards!

I still have 5 days annual leave to use up this calendar year so I could be tempted by late Novermber myself. I really do have better things I could spend the money on, but as long as I tell myself that its worth it for the GGL Jokers ...

Us poor teachers have to take holidays at the same time as the kids,

I could save loads on travel if I retired and be able to stay longer in interesting places, and not have to take my work with me.........
I have 6 days to decide whether quit and leave at Xmas , driving in to work today I was thinking "well I will just stay another couple of years" driving home I was thinking " I am being observed with a class that are determined to do no work, these kids are going to be the ones that end my career"

still dont know what to do!

Don't go for the multi city function on US website. Just go for LGA to LGB and it will throw up options via CLT (must avoid), BOS or PHL for the price you want.

Yes, 660.

LGR - BOS =60
BOS-PHX =210
PHX-LGB = 60
Sum = 330

It's a round trip TP run so 2 x 330 = 660

is this the birth of the BAEC HNL FT DO in HNL on Saturday 29th November (or Sunday 30th November)?

Me and friend are booked.
rxfleming and Filthy Monkey looking at flights
flibbly tempted?
KARFA and billingham probably already have flights booked

who else?

I am sure we can find some local FTers if we post in the Community thread. This could be lots of fun.

the LAX - HNL we are booked on is a 763 which is rare to HNL these days. in case someone needs convincing

dutch_122 you are a legend. Many thanks ^

I now have a booking in the system and it includes F on the transcon which is one class higher than that visible through ITA on that leg.

Many thanks again to all of you who offered help on this. I've now booked my very 1st TP run, all in it came in at >Ł2.5/tp but that's because I chose relatively expensive flights to the US.

Hopefully I'll survive and take pictures etc., so everyone will have a truly terrible TR report to giggle at.

To avoid multiple posts, details of the run are here

I flew DFW-OGG on the 763 in August... not bad at all.
Hopefully we can all work something out for a FT DO in HNL!

I'll be in Hawaii then, albeit a different island (Kauai), holding my sister's hand as she gets close to Gold on a run. We get to HNL on AA31 on the 26th (also on a 767) and are departing on AA284 at 3.55pm on the 1st (sadly, on a 757), so we might cross paths in the lounge at HNL on the way back.

If not then, if you're on BA2 to LCY on 2 Dec and BA8451 to AMS on the 3rd, we'll certainly get to meet up from JFK onwards - small world!
