BA95 LHRYMX gone technical........
Sitting at T5 and we have all been off loaded. It is a bit of mystery as to why BA would load a plane full of pax before having thoroughly done all technical pre-flight checks. If anybody would be kind enough to enlighten me as to how this can happen I'd be grateful.

Depends on a wide range of things; perhaps it was running late or perhaps something only came to light when a dispatcher spotted it.

Just like getting in your car really. Sometimes you just don't know there is a problem until you've started the engine...so you get out again.

My flight was delayed at LHR last week for 4-5 hours due to a mechanical problem in the plane and it was frustrating. BA should start replacing their old ageing planes now with new swankier ones . The 747-400 i was in was almost 17 years old and in a below average condition.
PS: The waitresses at Giraffe are pretty good and food not so bad either.

Sometimes, you just fire up those engines and something goes bang. That's just the way of it. I'm sure they must sometimes take a calculated risk that a problem will be fixed by the time the plane is due to push back (and I'm sure that happens, without the passengers ever knowing).

The flaw wasn't the airport per se. The flaw was that the city/province wouldn't bite the bullet and shut YUL, plus wouldn't install the high speed transit to the city.
YMX still shows up in movies from time-to-time when studios are looking for an airport that's easy to film in.
