The BA Board 2014 New Year Plans and Resolutions Thread - What's yours?
Wonderful thread....
1. Get married and plan a honeymoon hopefully using the hundreds of thousands of avios we have
2. Get gold in 3 weeks with my 4th BA flight of the year - my first time, probably overly excited
3. Try the AA JFK flagship lounge for the first time
3. JFK-LCY for the first time
Merry Christmas and happy new year all

Good luck Peter!
For me a journey back on the A380 from LAX will be great... did the Frankfurt run.
Mrs F has a 787 booking. I'd like one too.
Expect to get gold back in 2014. ^
Happy Christmas everyone!

1 - I am going to try not to kill anyone........ To explain...... someone just smacked into the side of my brand new car, which had a total of 88 miles on it and that I had picked up 3 days ago......... Blood pressure is still very very high at the moment!
2 - see above!

Great thread. I hope this time next year we dig this thread up and comment on what we said!
I want to have saved enough for our wedding and have the 241 BA F and CX F honeymoon booked by this time next year

Many congrats to all getting married next year. I should add that one other ambition is to get HMG to cut the delay in implementing some bits of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act so that my SO and I can join the ranks of the legally married not, just civilly partnered, in 2014.

As for my resolutions:
Taking the A380 to LA in April, I'll see if it measures with EK's.
Going to India (one off my bucket list).
Actually am pretty satisfied with everything that comes my way.

Looking ahead with just over a week until 2014 and having just recently reached the dizzy heights of Silver here are my New Year Plans and Resolutions:
Whether they all happen of course is a different matter!
1) Take Jnr P on BA to Florida in late 2014 for a 7 day Theme Park holiday ^
2) Travel on the BA 787 (in any class)
3) Travel in BA NF on the 747 or/and the A380 F and onwards to a TP run
4) Visit an elderly relative in Vancouver and go CW
5) Travel in JAL F (New Suite)
6) Fly on the AA 77W in J
7) Maximise Avios opportunities (as always )
8) Stop smoking (I'm a 6-8 a day man) , lose a little weight and get fitter.
9) Plan for my potential 'retirement' and a change of career in 37 months time (not that I am counting!)
10) Read more books
11) Maybe get a Dog!
12) Buy a new camera
13) Get a new hairstyle (I may go from a No.3 to a No.2 ....)
14) Do a bit more for Charity
15) See friends more often
Pete

Well, looking back at my list it was maybe a little over ambitious.
However, at #8 I have lost 6lbs by loads of power walking, less dairy products, red meat and crisps (my downfall as I LOVE them!)
I am away to buy an e-Cig this weekend as I must get off them ciggys. It was a bit scary what I could 'save' giving them up when I put pen to paper and calculating what it would cost as an example over the next 5 years. More importantly though for health reasons and to maximise my life span
#7, 10, 13, 14 and 15 have been given some attention too and some of the others will happen later between early summer and the end of the year.
#4 is on the cards for May (ish)

Although posting much less on this board I have been posting on the other boards which hasn't expedited the process. Would be interesting to see the latest BA board hit parade figures as many of the usual 'names' seem to have been posting less over recent months while others have been posting more.

Did anyone manage to keep to their New year Resolutions?
Looking back mine were maybe................. a little too ambitious

1) My resolution as always is to fly as little as possible and continue to give the impression on this forum that I know what I'm talking about.
2) To get my FT post count below 10....another tornado like the one we had a couple of weeks ago might help me achieve this more easily (no power for 2 days).
3) Would like to go to the Falklands (great Avios redemption) but the accommodation there is a wee bit pricey and due to the Lan schedules would mean having to stay at least a week. Not sure if it's worth it plus the purchasing restrictions of foreign currency in place here are dreadful.....I can't see the locals there taking pesos.

No idea what I was thinking regarding number 3. Far too much hassle.

Next year's resolution - go and drive a 4x4 with Australian friends to Cape York for some hard core offroading, camping and fisshing, and try and burn three 241 vouchers on BA.
