Next year I will.be looking at whether I will be better off flying on other airlines and schemes as I'm getting a little tired of not being able to upgrade my tickets.

On a more positive note, I will try my hand at flying a plane too. Possibly the two becomes related.

1. Generate 2-4-1 Amex voucher and use it as an opportunity to take a totally different type of holiday.
1b. decide who to take on such a holiday

2. Re-think career options to regain a work life balance (recent health setbacks mean I cannot maintain 5-day week and still have any kind of home life)

3. If I can resolve (2) and I can almost certainly take up weight-lifting again ^

4. again, dependant on (2), I could take up some dance lessons.

5. Travel plan 1: Amsterdam in January, less than an hour, ergo ET

6. Travel plan 2: Oslo in May on CE RFS

7. Travel plan 3: <<some sort of TATL with tier point benefits>> to renew silver of *gasp* move up to gold

8. Travel plan 4: Tuscany in Autumn - history, culture and maybe some wine tasting.

9. Improve my photography. I probably only get 20% out of my D90: maybe that's the on instruction manual i *should* read.

1)Loose some weight
1i) Get 6 pack back
2) Actually focus and make some money, instead of lazing around for a year.

PETER01 a dog is fun, I got one in March. Now, the key is to make the correct "deal", the deal I made with the Mrs -who was the real impetus behind it, was that she does the morning walk, come hail, snow or shine. Also picking an independent breed is good, since it doesn't howl when you leave it alone!

I like Photography and was booked to go on a Beginners course with Jessops, then they shut their shops where it was to be held I must get round to looking elsewhere like a night class or something.

I wish I could take a year off but I'm not that far away from a potential early 'retirement'.

Realistically I don't have the time but one day. I take my mates dog for walks now and again (only a 10 minute drive away) and I enjoy that. I used to have a German Shepherd many years ago. What do you mean by an 'independent' breed?

1. eliminate all non-work time spent on the Internet before 5pm daily - achieve by writing down on paper everything I want to look at as and when I think of it

2. continue last year's successful resolution to swim half a mile five times a week

3. recommence last year's resolution to walk for two hours outside each day - in 2013 I only walked about an hour outside each day after the first few months

4. go for a walk in the garden after dinner every night.

I assume a breed which doesn't mind being left alone.....which rules out cocker spaniels. In times past neighbours of ours had one which barked all flippin' day long when the owners were out at work.

1. Move country.
2. Buy warm clothing.
3. Buy car.
4. Find job.
5. Find house.
6. Move into house.
7. Move wine collection into house.
8. Drink wine. All of it before my wife notices I shipped it all.
9. Buy food.
10. Find good Indian restaurant near new house. This will be considered as part of No 4.
11. Buy furniture for house.

If I can do all that, I'll be having a great 2014.

1. Look forward to next year's holiday to Asia bought entirely on 241 and award tickets
2. Be content with a drop in status to bronze or blue as a result of above
3. Make time to help others; charity work or the like.
4. Be prepared for a change in career direction after 30 years with one group of companies.

1. Spend more nights at home and fewer in hotels. 100+ nights away year on year for work is getting bad for the marriage and even worse for the waist line.

2. Persuade wife that I need a new SLR camera in return for 1.

3. Trip to Far East later in 2014 to test out said camera (location dependant upon where availability can be found)

4. Christmas shopping trip to NYC on the LCY babybus

If your NYC trip was sooner than next December, I'd suggest BH Photo and Video in NYC would a great place to buy a new SLR, especially if you want a long chat about it first.

No doubt you want the camera sooner than that
