I don’t understand why people are a hissy fit over who foots the bill? Locals, passengers, government or corporations, it doesn’t matter, it’s still a bill that everyone will pay in some shape or form. As soon as this new runway gets built (if ever), it will be at capacity.

Just build it and then replace it with Boris island in 15-25 years.

As the U.K. Governement Cabinet has today approved plans for the 3rd runway, this is a good time to close this, rather stale, thread and regenerate the debate here :
