If I have a domestic flight departing within an hour intend to use the North GC lounge because....

1. It's the closest lounge after security coming off a long haul flight.
2. It's the closest lounge to the domestic gates (usually).

So it's a case of convenience really.

I use GC North when flying out on the BA1382 to MAN.

I also enjoy the views of the City of London you get on a crisp clear morning from the GC North terrace.

I always ask the gate number when arrive, if it is A19 like it was last week I head to the FLounge and guest my boss in so he can have decent breakfast.

I go in there if I have a short domestic connection. But my most common use of that lounge is to pick up a copy of The Times, as the FLounge never seems to have enough. Ditto for readable magazines, which the Galleries lounge has more of, rather than Superyacht World or a magazine on racing car gear ratios, both of which are available in the FLounge but are less use than a chocolate teapot.

If I was a Gold card holder I would probably continue to use the GC north because it is so much easier to reach with no escalator hassles. The terrace there is just as nice as the terrace in the GF as far as I am concerned. The one exception might be if I wanted something to eat, when I might well use the GF.

I would also have no hesitation in heading straight to the GC lounge at T5B if my flight was leaving from this terminal.

My lounge preference at LHR T5A is CCR > GCN > GF > GCS.

At LGW I'll always use the club lounge as it is quieter than the Flounge with a better view!

Tend to use GC North due to convenience for the normal domestic gates fro ABZ flights. If I have a bit of extra time I will wander to the Flounge at the other end.

An infrequent visitor to Galleries Club and LHR nowadays but

Galleries South if:
I fancied a curry (used to be a lot better than the Flounge option)
I wanted to watch TV. I preferred the TV 'lounge'
An ice cream for the walk to gate

Galleries North when on a domestic and it is a short time to flight boarding

I generally prefer the GC at the 'B' gates as often my flights are B or C...tends to be quieter than the others. If I want something to eat that's more a meal than a snack then I'll pop in the First lounge and then head to B gates

Apparently It's the coolest place to be seen in T5A (sort of like being seen in The Ivy) where lots of Golds/GGL's and Premiers like to 'hang out' as the food is better as is the em, well, em,..... 'talent'

I always used to pop into GC north or B if it was near my gate. Other than that I always found GF preferable! Now as a silver again I'll have one less decision to make.
